So many positives to take from that first half.
Frimpong has been great going forward but crucially has also done his defensive duties very well, which many had doubts about, including me.
Kerkez is going to be a kop favourite, the way he plays.
Wirtz..wow. He is going to score and assist loads this season.
Mo Salah looks really sharp and invigorated.

Another very useful workout for the lads, against a genuine quality opponent.

We have been mesmerising at times going forward as relationships start to develop.

Wirtz, Salah, Gakpo and Ekitike moving the ball so quickly they finished the half with a 2.26 XG.

Defensively not so great but with no Alisson or Virgil and two new full backs it’s not really surprising.

Ekitike looked a good addition, strong quick and intelligent in his play.

We need to stop trying the Hollywood pass through midfield. Its getting caught out easily.. leaves us wide open to runners against our back line then

Yes, it looks like in pre season Soboszlai has decided well I'm not going to be the one to step back to the bench to make way for the new players.

Wonderful move, Liverpool look like they’re under pressure deep in their own half but they open the pitch up beautifully and break, they really should score but Gakpo’s finish is turned over.

From the resulting corner a shot from the edge comes back off the keeper and Gakpo puts it in.
