    • Robbo leaving in May.

This is bad - so many key players are moving on. Gutted

        • Ffs sake another one.
Should have given him a one year extension, now funds will spread to a leftback.

Might be Kerkez main choice, Tsimikas as back-up, with funds retained for other positions.

Will worry about that later - what an amazing contribution from Robbo, wasn't far off 400 games for us. On his day he was something else and his press against Man City right back to their goalie will live long in the memory.

            • "Will worry about that later" - That attitude from those behind the scenes is a large part of the reason why we're struggling now, and why we didn't win as much as we should have won under Klopp.

Sad to see Robbo go. The backbone of our squad is being dismantled bit by bit. Unless we immediately start building a new strong spine we could be heading for another lengthy period in the wilderness.

              • Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group believe Dutchman Arne Slot, 47, will lead the club next season despite another defeat this week. (Telegraph - subscription required)

More chance of hell freezing over

                  FSG WANT him to stay.
We need to be asking WHY? considering how poor we have been since April/May last year.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

Maybe they want him to think that, so he won't just give up for the remaining games? I'm grasping ar straws here. I can't understand why he wasn't sacked before Christmas.

Speaking only for myself, my own personal "will worry about that later" comment is a case of being more interested in processing that Robbo won't be around next season and perhaps remembering some of his best contributions for the remainder of the week, rather than (for example) looking at what left-backs might be available or whatever.

It's not to say that I'm not interested in the further development/renewal of the squad - which to be fair I have zero control over.

Well, whatever has transpired under him and his apparent inability to turn around a difficult situation, he had ultimately been a part of a Liverpool set-up that got us a League title and now found himself managing a different, somewhat imbalanced squad, much of which had suffered a deep tragedy that impacted players in ways we probably can't quite quantify in a sport of very mine margins.

It would appear that staff above him were keen to give him the benefit of the doubt. That ultimately looks like it will prove to be the incorrect call, but it'd be most unusual for us to sack a Manager so soon after a League title win and to give credit where it's due, we had so many matches in the 24/25 season where we came out in the second half looking considerably better. You don't fluke that 38+ times per season.

Some Managers can't thrive in difficult circumstances and are somewhat "fair-weather" in that sense and it may well prove that he's one of them, but whatever insipid style and apparent tactical ineptitude we might have seen for much of the last 12 months now, he ultimately played a part in number 20 and Edwards/Hughes etc will likely have made some sort of stipulation (such as keeping him unless Champion's League qualification becomes mathematically impossible as an example) as to what would or wouldn't prompt swinging the axe.

Hopefully come the end of the season there can be a polite shake of hands, a thank-you for the first 7-8 months of his tenure and wish him well. I can't say I actively want him here next season and beyond as I'm exasperated with our set-up, talk of xG, talk of low blocks etc but he'll always have no. 20 in his locker and I'll always be grateful for it, even if we have been a mess for 12-13 months now.

The old vote of confidence huh?

Unless it's a typo... lead the club / leave the club?

                          • As with Trump and his sickening and desperate attempt to find an off ramp to escape the US defeat in the gulf - It’s glaringly obvious that the whole club was a house of cards held together by one man’s sheer force of will - a leader who could take a group of components and make almost all of them look world-class while the rest of us just watched in disbelief. He had this uncanny knack for getting 110% out of everyone - keeping a guy like Origi happy on the periphery for years only to have him produce magic - or taking a hard working but technically limited player like Henderson and somehow making him the captain of the world club champions...

It wasn't about the "data" or the "model" - it was about a manager who could take a Chelsea reject from Roma and turn him into an all-time great - or take a winger from the Saints and make him the best in the world. He even managed to fleece Barca for £140 million for Coutinho - easily double in today’s money - because he knew exactly how to make a player look better than they actually were...

Now that he’s gone the facade has completely crumbled and they look like a busted flush - desperate for their own off-ramp but with absolutely no clue how to navigate the drop-off. You see them struggling with players who wouldn't get a game for Villa - and you realise the brilliant "system" everyone praised was more a myth... Without that specific magic to paper over the cracks they are just an organization in freefall - and anyone who’s actually paying attention can see that the miracle worker was the only thing keeping them from looking this ordinary all along.

A Luis Enrique with the ability to attract the right players to L4 - is the only hope we have of getting back close to where at our zenith under Klopp in wake of the Coutinho cash.

They're just things though aren't they. He has the memories and the actual footage of playing on those games.

Everyone's different though and sees it their own way. Cost of living etc is high. I'm.guilry of having things I see as valuable stashed in boxes in my loft. All pretty pointless but I don't want to lose them.
Like thieves who steal valuable artworks to hide them away. What's the point?....
                                I've gone off track haven't I....
                                Ill get me coat........
