There are still rumours doing the rounds that we are seriously considering trying to sign Bradley Barcola. If we sign him and not Yan Diomande, Hedwards need firing on the spot, and that's before you factor in the wages we'd probably have to pay Barcola, and that PSG could use the transfer fee to help buy Diomande.

I don't understand the excitement and enthusiasm about Barcola. I can't remember ever seeing him have a good game and his finishing is awful. No wonder he can't get a start for PSG.

You're definitely not the only person that feels that way. We need to find as close a Salah replacement as we can get. Diomande looks to fit the bill. Barcola certainly does not.

It was interesting seeing Rio play on the right very successfully for England. Having Diomande on one side Barcola on the other with Rio as back up would be a much better starting point than last season.
If Gakpo does go we would need a third forward as we will have also lost Salah and Chiesa. And while Chiesa didn’t play many minutes getting him off the wage bill will allow us to bring another one in.

Same, although the bigger pet peeve for me is the removal of so many old threads.

They were dead handy for the best bits of the community space (highlighting awesome threads around Christmas time where people were incredibly kind to each other, or threads full of puns) and also the worst bits (thus being able to show examples of people "taking things too far" in the rare times where that was needed) and most significantly it's a shame we will, by default, have lost all threads containing stuff from the likes of the Prince, Leviathan, n4c, taksin, RedNoodle, North Wales Red Craoighe Rua and so on.

Much and all as they were inactive in recent times, the fact that the forum now presents in a way where it's like they were never here is a bit of a shame and is definitely to the detriment of the community space here - though I understand the need for an upgrade.

There had already been a "cull" of threads of this Nature, but to now be limited to the last 12 months or so of threads is a pity.

I want to dig up the "Aquilani is fast-improving" thread and have a laugh with a pint dang nabbit! Also reflect on some of the poorer takes (including my own) regarding the success/failure of certain transfers. It's good fun being able to laugh at yourself when you were convinced a player could thrive here when they don't.

I still get the occasional chuckle when I remember a Suarez hand-ball incident (we benefitted from a goal that would have been disallowed in the VAR era) and I said "what's the money on Borini scoring in the next game, doing his bite-the-knife celebration and one of the rags thinking it's a tribute to a handball?" and it actually ended up happening because the media are just that f**king predictable.

Anyway, new forum is here to stay. Might use it often, might use it very sparingly, really not sure yet - if I slip off into the ether at any stage it's been fun chatting to a number of you and I'd still be up for the LFC Online group pint.
