None of our midfield three have been, to be fair.

Maybe Szobo's had the least shaky performance, but then again, that might only be in comparison to his godwaful Community Shield performance.

Salah should have done better there.

Try the Rattler, a lovely cider, had a drink in there last week.

          Ok.

Slot has not only changed personnel he’s changed tactics and right now, he’s nullifying last season’s biggest threat in Mo Salah, we’re not getting the ball to him quick enough and crowding his work when he does get the ball.

Wirtz as a 10 isn’t working either, he’s not affecting the game at all while leaving us a man short in midfield.

Whether they persist with the new set up or go back to tried and tested, only time will tell but it didn’t work on Sunday and it’s not working tonight.

          Ekitike… looks a marvellous buy

Id take Gakpo off about 15/20 into second half. Push Ekitike to the left and play Wirtz up the top. Bring on Jones

Also loved the "2" and "0" gesture that Ekitke gave after he scored, as tribute to Jota.

No better way to honour the DioGOOOALS man than to score on your debute appreance.

Well he passed the ball sideways 5 yards, it was all Ekitike to be fair

HT 1-0 poor half really too much over passing fave up better chances than we created which is becoming a feature in Slot’s trying to play the Dutch game in the Prem

Need more cut and thrust players like Robbo when on driving the ball forward and breaking the lines and creating space that way also making runs from deeper to arrive in space to create it

Need to mix it up more and keep that blend of Jurgen’s game and Slot’s game

Over to slot to make sure we’re a lot better second half and get the win

Someone upthread speculated if Isak was watching this and asking where he'd fit into this team, and on current performances I'd take Gakpo off and push Ekitike to the left (where he played in Germany) and have Isak in the '9' with Wirtz a false 9 right behind.

I've been arguing sine preseason that Gakpo has the most to prove he needs to hold on to that starting spot.
Everyone assumed it would be Ekitike giving way if we got Isak, but so far he's shown he's deserving of starting - not just from the goal, but his general movement and workrate up front.

I rate Gakpo but he needs to do more. he scored 10 games in a row at Anfield last season so pretty good
