Looked better centrally in the second half rather than out on the left in the first and should have taken a good chance to score. Still not looking good though

Integrating Wirtz is proving far tougher than expected, potentially mirroring the first-season struggles Gravenberch endured last year. Fundamentally, something isn't clicking within the team. Regardless of the results—many of which have been last-gasp winners in games we arguably deserved little from—the side has looked consistently disjointed. It's difficult for a player of Wirtz's caliber to walk into that environment, especially when adapting to a new, tougher league. We desperately need him to come good, otherwise, this high-profile summer signing will inevitably be seen by some as a panic acquisition by the backroom staff.

Agree. He does see to want an extra second or so and it's costing him.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostHe needs to do what he was doing in Germany but quicker
Still not up to speed with the pace of the Prem always thinks he’s got longer then he ever has
I think most of us were buzzing to sign him but in hindsight he wasn't really needed and it begs the question where did the staff think he was going to fit into the team bearing in mind it was massively obvious we needed a defensive midfielder.
He's obviously a quality player but it's difficult to see where he fits if he's not going to compromise the midfield.
Maybe they see him as the long term option for the right side of the attack? The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Watched a lot of Witz when he was playing for Leverkusen. Also had him in my fantasy Bundesliga team. Goals, assists man of the match, points galore every week. He’s not performed once anywhere near to what I’ve seen him play. He just can’t seem to handle the pace & physicality of the premier league. He wants too much time on the ball to decide what he’s doing next. I really hope he gets his Mo Jo back, he has massive potential to be world class. Hence why we paid £116 million on him.

I've still got no worries about his abilty as a player. You can see it in his touch and technical play.
Finding how to get the best out of him should be Slot and Co's priority over the next few weeks.
However, I did say end of last season that we should have thrown Palace £150m - £180m for Eze, Guehi and Wharton...
Those saying evolution not revolution, what would that have looked like?
Other than Diaz, arguably Trent and obviously Diogo (although there were plenty saying he was pretty much done before his untimely death) the others that were shipped out were all derided and deemed replaceable at various points of the season. Robbo, Tsimi, Quansah, Elliot, Nunez and Diogo all came in for heavy criticism and have all been replaced.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side
