He's not going anywhere makes me laugh people calling for his head already jokers
Imagine this, Wirtz goes to bayern..... then chelsea buy in in a few seasons and he ends up being the best attacking mid in the world.....
Remember salah? yeah but other way round.
So many examples of chelsea letting players go too quickly, end up coming back to the prem and being top class, this is before they just aimed at stocking up kids
FSG& The team have basically fucked up, we should've been doing more previous windows not just one window.... and the harsh fact is we still need about 4 players CB CDM LW... probably another CB and RW this time next season too.
we've known we need another top body in the middle, we've known we need another top CB we know the likes of salah,VVD,robbo coming to a end... why try sort everything in one window?? too many changes is going to cause a shitstormLast edited by Kev0909; 6 October 2025, 03:34 PM.

Jurgen thinks he's top notch. I wish Jurgen was coaching him.

Are we using him right? Does he need a specific system to play his game? I knew very little about him when we signed so I wasn't over joyed with the signing but a few friends said he will be world class. So far, under whelming, but is it that our formation doesn't suit him?
Anyone with knowledge on him have any insight?

Some said Keita was the best in the world - at what he does - whatever that is…- I love Klopp but he was never going to
say anything different about Florian, and Klopp was never the very best at sporting the top talent, he was the master of getting the most from players.
Florian has to do plenty at higher levels than the Bundesliga if these claims of his amazing-ness are to come true

I think what's surprised me most about him is how slow he seems. I expected him to be rapid quick but he's not pacey at all.
He seems to need too long and hopefully that's an adjustment thing. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Yep - Grav seemed like that first season too. It is a huge adjustment and to be fair to Wirtz this season even more changes than Klopp’s final season. I am also expecting for the click moment - might never arrive tho - most likely it will but the probability is - next season…
They ripped up the book this summer - panicked a bit - the tragic loss of Jota must surely be factored into to some of that too.
Slot seems extremely level headed. He interviews very well even after a difficult defeat.
We just have to keep the faith.

Aye you're right. It might be a rough arduous season but if it is he's earned credit and we probably need to be a bit patient. A title win last season was more than we dared dream.Originally posted by Steveo View PostYep - Grav seemed like that first season too. Wirtz needs to quickly realise and adjust to the fact that he isn't going to get the same amount of time and space in the PL in comparison to that which he got in the Bundesliga.
He is being hampered in a somewhat similar way to how Gerrard and Lampard were hampered when playing for England. They all need or needed space to operate in or to run into. The more players you have operating in the same area of the pitch the less space each of those players has available to them.
I think one of the ways to get more out of Wirtz is to give him more space by playing two deeper lying midfielders, something that would hopefully also mean that our defence would be harder to get at.

He seems excellent at gaining the half yard but too slow or just the options aren’t presenting themselves for him to take advantage and now he seems to be playing it safe more than earlier in season. Still he does create dangerous situations plenty in most games but we seem devoid of our finishing at the moment.Originally posted by teesred View PostI think what's surprised me most about him is how slow he seems.
