  • Liverpool Vs Atlético Madrid start 11

So our champions league campaign starts up again on Wednesday evening.. Atlético Madrid will play a similar style to Burnley.. 6/2/2

I would give Szoboszlai a rest for this game and start him on the bench.. Thats depending on Macca's fitness
Bring in Bradley to play at full back.. Not sure what the aim is for the manager whether he will start Isak or bring him on.. I hear Slot says he will get minutes in the game

    anyway onto the selection

    Alisson
    Bradley
    Konate
    Virgil
    Robertson
    Gravenberch
    Macca
    Wirtz
    Gakpo
    Ekitike
    Salah

I am going to start Robertson, show A-Madrid what they are missing out on.. Hopefully a 50 yard screamer into the top right hand corner
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

    Macca certainly doesn't seem 100%.
Could give Endo a game so Macca can recover from whatever the issue is.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

Rarely seems 100% but a key player for us and gives everything. I'd almost say targeted by opposition as he's been clattered so many times. Only thing about resting him for Saturday is the blueshite will hit him hard as usual.

        Alisson
        Bradley Konate Virgil Robertson
        Sobozla Gravenberch Jones Gakpo
        Isak Ekitike

Won't happen, but I'd drop Salah & Wirtz out of the 11.
Only resting MacA as he got a knock, and giving Isak his debut. 442.

The amount of peeps clamouring online for Wirtz to be dropped, now that we're finally playing a non PL team... Lol

Yep Wirtz has to play at this level. You pay that money for that quality and you have to put it on the pitch. Slightly slower game - more technical…. Hopefully it’s a chance for him to shine - shake of the early season funk and produce the creativity needed. That could get the front line firing and things could start to click.

We should hope so, and tbh I am quietly confident we will see this lad shine. There were good glimpses of his talent on Sunday in the 2nd half when the team went on the attack more...

We don't even have the depth to drop him.... same with Salah

we going to start chiesa thinking he's the worlds best all of a sudden ?

be better when isak is match fit.. whenever that'll be

I don't expect to see Isak get many minutes until maybe Southampton

I'll be more disappointed if we don't see Leoni by then.

I hope we treat the league stage with the contempt it deserves (but still qualify obvs)

Isn't there more uefa prize money on offer the higher you finish after 8 games and/or per win? U better believe the bean counters will want us top again

For sure they will but a fat lot of good it did us last time. The really big money is in the knockout stages.

                            From the BBC....

Slot said he is "100% sure" Isak will not play 90 minutes against Atletico but indicated he will play a part against the La Liga side.

"He [Isak] is part of the squad, so it's already a Champions League game to look forward to, but if people look forward to his playing time, that could mean that could happen tomorrow as well," Slot added.

"So the moment he is fit, match fit, [he] can play 90, and then the next step is playing three times in a week 90 minutes.

"And that is what he has to do; scoring goals and doing special things in attack is something he will 100% do. The main challenge he has is to become so fit that he's first of all ready to do what he did last season."

Would rather see Kerkez play tonight and Robbo on Saturday
