Exactly. Lot need players to integrate. Ekitike has been brilliant to be fair despite his idiocy last night. Kerkez is looking better as you say. Wirtz has shown some small signs. Isak still to come. If we can get to 10 games and we're near the top hopefully we'll have bedded in those players by then. We should start to click. From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

Speaking in his post-match news conference on Ekitike's red card, Slot added: "Needless? Yes. And it was stupid. The first one was already needless and to a certain extent, stupid, as you have got to control your emotions.
"I told him that if you score in the Champions League final in the 87th minute after outplaying three players and hitting it in the top corner I can maybe understand. He is like: 'This is all about me - what did I do'.
"But I am old-fashioned, I'm 47 and old. I never played at this level but did score a few goals and if I scored a goal like this, I'd have turned around and walked up to Federico Chiesa and said: 'This goal is all about you - this is not about me'.
"It's always the best to control your emotions. If you can't, do it in a way that doesn't lead to a yellow card."

Yeah. If we could keep him fit he'd be a real asset to the team. Gakpo would be worried maybe.Originally posted by Daffydd View PostYep. Pleasantly surprised he did 90 minutes, don't think he has done 90 since the FA Cup in Plymouth.
I like him, he's got a brain and he's a goal threat. From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

First time ive seen him take his shirt and was making a point showing his name when already on a yellow and looked like he was expecting the 2nd yellow.Originally posted by Kev0909 View PostPeople was literally praising his attitude few days ago......
I'm sure your making something into a big deal when there's no need
His first booking was for throwing ball away in hissy fit.

Agree, I said last night he's done more in the game than Cody has in 5 or 6. I like Gakpo but he's out of form right now. There's not a lot of inbetween with him, he's either really good or just drifts through games like he has done upto now. He's a confidence player.Originally posted by Red October View PostYeah. Chiesa playing like he did last night would be a big plus for us on that left side. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

He looks like a natural winger. We've missed that a bit lately.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostChiesa also seemed to get better as the game wore on and be if anything, more effective on the left flankFrom the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Yep I actually replied to miller’s post about Chiesa agreeing that he improved as the game went on and ended up being the best player on the pitch - then I asked if anyone had news about Leoni as I had seen a medical expert suggest that it was likely to be ACL judging by the way they placed him in the stretcher. Post has vanished..?
And sadly those fears have been confirmed. Gutted for the lad. It’s a huge setback for a lad of 18. That’s a season out at a crucial stage in his development into a senior CB.Last edited by Steveo; 24 September 2025, 03:36 PM.
