I agree and play Wirtz in the Firmino role with Ekitike and Salah ahead of him.

Exactly what ive been saying.
I had called for wirtz to be tried wide attack but he doesnt have the pace,we have the players to go back to 4 3 3 with a false 9,ekitikie/isak playing sadio's role.
More worried that slot is to stubborn to go back to 'klopps' formation.
A poster put up that since we got knocked out of last seasons CL we have lost 40 % of our games,not good enough.

Thats easy slot knows that salah no longer has the legs to get back and prefers to let salah stay up where he 'was' most dangerous but with salah not dropping back and a 2 man midfield we are exposed down the right side.

Might work - but - do we think Wirtz has the work rate and especially the physique to play the Firmino role…? Slot sees them in training, there must be a reason why he isn’t trying this…

well that's gonna be all comps as we lost 4 in the league whole season, and 5 so far this season?

Pretty sure 2-3 of them losses was when it was already won too pretty much

Al comps shouldn't really matter, but then you got drawing to Grimsby and getting knocked out on pennos..... so doesn't count as a loss- the europa run made it to the final obviously with some shitty teams they had to play.

We obvioulsy took our foot off the gas after winning it last season. The problem is we've forgotten to take the handbrake off this season!

We have a 'gentle' run of games before we go to the Emirates in January. He (and the players) have to sort it in those 9-10 games.

If he doesn't then most of us will be baying for blood come xmas, but I think he'll be given at least this season by the owners.

One thing I am sick of seeing is everyone stood in a line, waiting for the ball or for someone to do something. Until we invariably lose at and leave ourselves wide upon for the counter.

There is zero movement from anyone in front of the two centre halves. What happened to Grav dropping deeper and pick the ball up? Why is Mac always stood behind a defender when we have the ball but is never goal side when we lose it.

If we're shipping goals at one end and looking toothless at the other that is 100% a midfield problem. With or without Wirtz, whatever it is Slot is setting up, it's fucking rubbish.

Wirtz may or may not be the problem, but it makes little difference... We could have Zidane in at 10 and we'd still look a shambles in midfield.

Grav's too high and we may as well replace Mac with a training cone the way he's played this season.

Possibly - he has quality, just don’t see him holding up the ball like Bobby did, a huge part of his link up play. Bobby a big strong lad beyond the finesse

I'm sure everyone thought that Wirtz was going to be our de Bruyne (which we haven't really needed because of the faster pressing, counter attacking and Trent of previous seasons), and we've kind of set the side up for that eventuality. Sadly, however good his ball skills may be, he hasn't the physicality or speed for the Prem. We can't afford to wait around like we did with Darwin for him to take off. We have to cut our losses very soon and revert to our 433 and keep Wirtz as a luxury sub when the game is won.

It's looking a bit of a mess so far. Hard to tell if that's all on Slot or on the transfer committee or both. It looks like we've signed players and don't know how to use them....Wirtz especially. To be fair that might be partially because Kerkez hasn't been working out as planned, Isak's been injured and Frimpong's been injured a lot. So maybe Slot hasn't really got to use his ideal first 11. And the ones he has used haven't been doing it.

Well so far Kerkez looks to be a mistake and Wirtz looks a huge mistake, not just ability wise but bringing in a 10 at all.
