That poor start doomed us.

Allisson kept us in the game for as long as he could, but struggling to get into the game after we went down one was ultimately our undoing.

I have to say, it was mistake by the club not to prioritize Guehi as our priority summer signing.

The new players have pretty much been poor - save for the one who stupidly got himself red-carded in the cup tie and whom we really could have used today.
I'll give Isak some space as he's clearly still not fully match fit and at the same wavelength as his teammates.

Agree he reminds me of that luxury player you have that excels in champs league but will struggle with the physicality of the prem , all other small great players , Salah , hazard , overmars , coutinho have that powerful robsustness about them , he seems really lightweight in the joao felix mould

On Wirtz all his feints and movements that worked so brilliantly for him in Germany & Europe just aren’t working in the Prem teams are reading them or out muscling him needs to work on doing what he does that little bit quicker for a start

agree with this , I would actually however play chiesa off the left now I think he deserves it , Salah so quiet , wirtz can’t start now he has to warrant selection. Jones is the most basic midfielder , I cannot get what the managers see in him

He got his contract extension, and other than the first game when he scored he's been mostly crap and non-existent this season.

Maybe he's just preparing us for January when he goes off for the Afcon, in which case why is he taking up space in the starting line-up?

He's been slow and ponderous, and while defenders have been zeroing in on him and putting early pressure on him, the occassions he's had the ball and space to do something with it, he's made terrible decisions gifting the ball back to the opposision.
In that first half it felt like Conor had no one to play with coming in from that right wing, and it's doubly frustrating in games like today against well-organized teams at the back, where some creatvity and guile is needed in breaking them down.
