Shouldn’t need to be weathering any storm should have stuck to and recruited for the 433 that won the league

Diaz should have been kept hold of a No6 and a long term successor to Salah at RFWD I’d have kept Nunez too for a season at least as he created panic which is a rare thing

Nunez wouldn't get in this side. Ekitike has more league goals already than Nunez had all of last season. Wise up.

Luis had wanted out for a while to be fair and at some stage you have to think about succession planning.

Diaz was one of our older attacking players, so one or two were always going to go at some point.

The issue isn't moving Diaz on - it's the acquisition of a suitable like-for-like replacement, or finding a system/players that cover what we lost without him, as we continue to shape our future.

There's certainly merit to discussing what we are missing without him, but hopefully we will go on to have success without him, as we typically always eventually manage to do when excellent players depart.

It’s not correct to say he wanted out. without any context.

That is pure Liverpool FC PR. He wanted out only once it was clear he wasn’t a priority. His salary was low relatively speaking and they would not give him anything close to the salary or the contract length he was expecting.

Diaz was a good player but certainly no world beater. He had his best season for us last season by a long way but it was a one off. Seems to be doing well in the Bundesliga so far but it's a much less competitive league.

I'm so impressed by ekitike. He has a real touch of class about him. He just drove past players a few times today like he had an extra gear. If he continues in this vein he could be one of our most underrated signings

I was impressed with his youtube videos this summer - when he first played for us, within 15 minutes I sad to my lad, this guy is the real deal. He looks to have world class technique and his brain is clear - his moves are smart.. Build the attack around him

Diaz was better than any forward we currently had and could play LFWD LAM and false 9

Gakpo is poor he had an upturn through new Dad syndrome he absolutely had to rise as high as he could and build on, he’s gone backwards

Nunez at LFWD or RFWD against any side creates chances even if he doesn’t directly he creates panic

I’d take him on loan not as if we’re blessed with forward options and Gakpo has shown he’s nothing but a steady one trick squad player

Yes. Sometimes things happen fortuitously in football. If we could get that understanding going between him and others as we mentioned like wirtz. Jones has suddenly put himself forward as a solution as well. Add that to szobo, grav and maybe chiesa and suddenly we have a team at least in an attacking sense

Hoping it clicks with him and Wirtz - That would be some show.

It is pissing me off he won’t play Chiesa in complete truth he created more in 10 minutes than Wirtz has in several games

I don’t want someone who just constantly makes themselves available for needless nothing 5 yard passes it is fucking shit to watch, it’s slow and lacking intensity and we waste opportunities to create when it’s on by passing it for the fucking sake of it

If we had our 433 automation still in place and played that with one of the wide forwards up, one deeper and the 9 up so we could be direct when it’s in to be and have players arrive to cross as they always did Ekitike and Isak would both be scoring more goals

Newcastle would work it so they had one of their wide players released ahead of Isak, Murphy or Gordon and they’d create for Isak they played 433 I watched them a fair bit because my friend supports them

Their midfield always press really well with help from their wide forwards and full backs we’ve only changed system because of this designated playmaker making Wirtz the star of the show when the team should always be the star fantasy that Slot has and it’s a fucking nonsense

Our best attacking line up is Ekitike Chiesa and worth trying Wirtz with them to see if he can produce something other than just linking needless 5 yard balls

The only pkaynaking today as in switches lingers diagonals balls through the lines cane from Macca Grav Jones Sloppy Chiesa and Virgil

Pre-injury Diaz was electric. Understandably he had to change his game a bit after that. He's a good player but a step down from Mane.

He was coming back to his best last season and he was a step down from Mane but still far better than anything we currently had LFWD or RFWD and would have given us the option to still play a false 9 too

Does anyone have any insight on Slot's problem with cheezy? He seems to really want to show for ths footbal club, and works hard when he gets an opportu ity but it never gets rewarded...

Personally its the one thing which really makes me doubt Slot

Great OP by the way ninteen
