It makes no sense at all.
If he asked to leave in the summer of 2024 after his most productive season (at the time) while Klopp was still in charge then something must have gone on.
If his reported demands of £150k are accurate then it’s ridiculous that the club wouldn’t pay that for a player of his quality

A massive result today , and absolutely loads of positives , McAllister looked a lot better as did konate , the one point going forward would be what to do out on the left . Gakpo is just not good enough , he’s a squad player , also in the last few phases of play when we broke and everyone was sprinting forward , I kept an eye on wirtz , he was literally left for dead , it happened twice

Great to see Salah back to looking like the player we know he is. Confident in possession - tight and decisive control on the ball - wrong footing back lines and the opposition in general. There’s still a huge amount of goals to be had through his quality be it the goals themselves or chances made.
With Ekitike on the pitch at the same time and Dom in support we will see the Mo Salah Show - plenty more times.

Wirtz looked really lost yesterday. Was more noticeable because the rest of the team had upped their game. I think he'll come good but it'll take time. Remember szobo in his first season was very frustrating. Very hot and cold. Now he's dominating the team. Grav as well was hit and miss at the start. Now he's such a class player. He's got everything. We missed him so badly.Originally posted by jimmyliver View PostA massive result today , and absolutely loads of positives , McAllister looked a lot better as did konate , the one point going forward would be what to do out on the left . I can't blame Wirzt last evening from what i saw for the last 15/20 minutes. he was brought on to press the ball and the rest of the midfielders were 20 yards back at times, no one on earth can press the ball on your own in that way. so easily to play the ball around.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

I agree...He certainly doesn't fit in a 433 like tonight.....Could only see him as a false 9/back up front man,far too lightweight for a midfield position IMHO....I just retained the Premier League on CM 01/02(2022 player data) in the 2030/31 season with Newport County with 107 points so I know what I'm talking about......Hee hee hoo hoo ha ha....Originally posted by Ravo19 View Poststarting to get worried about wirtz has shown nothing, one of those that should have played against palace.

In the end he will surely show his quality. He’s a top class player… BUT he has to adapt to a totally different league. It’s not like we’ve bought a pile of shyte.Originally posted by Ravo19 View Poststarting to get worried about wirzt has shown nothing, one of those that should have played against palace.
Question is when will we see it and how will it manifest in this team. I see him now as a potentially brilliant super sub to come on and finish games off - OR to unpick a lock. Not probably what the board want from a £100 million player but still..
Start form there - integrate him slowly. As he gains confidence at this level then take stock and see IF he can play a more central role. Robbo wasn’t thrown straight in starting games nor was Fabinho… Robbo was already Prem proven too.
Throwing him in - with new FB’s and or Szobozlai in there & missing from the midfield - new forwards in Ekitike and Isak…. no Diaz or Jota…. well it’s asking too much imo - might work in Holland - not here

Agree with this....Arne has thrown too many of the new signings in all at once, hasn't worked as hoped...We looked much better last night with just Ekitike starting from the new lads + Marma inda goal innit guv...Originally posted by Steveo View PostIn the end he will surely show his quality. There’s no doubting that he’s a quality player , but it all depends on his ability to play on the left now in a front 3 , he has to play there and make a huge impact , the only issue he would have is his apparent lack of proper pace and physicality , would I prefer to have spent that money on a kvaratshelia or a brilliant winger ,yes I would of
