    ......

You're delusional if you believe this.
Poor officiating and poor officials - while true and a fact of this game- are also both a convenient excuse for how awful we looked in between (and even BEFORE) those awful calls.

It allows Liverpool fans to claim it was officials who screwed us over when the reality is that we were never in this at all.

The couple of (admittedly bad) offfside calls - including for the disallowed goal - papered over the crack of the several other times our players were too lazy to get back onside (with Mo a frequent culprit in this), or simply not being alert to City getting out in time to set the trap.

Same thing with foul calls bookmarked by terrible decisions leading to bad tackles (and unnecessary cards and deadball opportunities for City),...and on and on and on.....

There's just too many instances of a bad referee/linesman/VAR call you could point to that could easily be nullified by several bad plays by our players on their own doing.

If VAR don't rule out that goal we still lose this game 3-1, or possibly even 4-1.

When you put it that way it seems totally crazy.

      • I stand corrected on 4 2 3 1,didnt realise slot used it last season.
Last season was a weird one, most teams off form and im still not a fan of the 4 2 3 1 we looked exposed this season

Stepping back from today's performance I think that was something like his 7th League goal in 67/68 (roughly) appearances so you'd want more from him in terms of output, but if today's performance starts to become "the norm" then they really have something.

Their patience with him may yet be rewarded it seems.

Don’t believe the crap you fed by any club.
Diaz himself said he wanted to leave.

Are you calling him a liar?

Do you have any quote of him saying he wanted to stay?
You're the one that's pulling that out of your arse.

I can pull up (AGAIN) that same quote where he said he wanted to leave and seek a new challenge.
He said to to Colombian press during one of the international breaks.

This isn't to deny that the wages situation wasn't a factor in that.
But if we're going simply and directly by what the player ...ACTUALLY......said, there's no argument here.

I'mnot going by anything the "club fed me"
I'm going by what HE SAID.

And I'm also not making stuff up.
            Unlike you.

I know you hate FSG and your hatred for them blinds you to obvious facts, but let's stick to facts here.

Maybe you want to make the argument that he wanted to leave......'because' FSG didn't give him the wage he was expecting (in which case, you have to substantiate that) and wanted and thought he was owed,....but the FACT that we're not arguing here,....is that....

            He.
            Wanted.
            To Leave.

Again, feel free to prove me wrong and provide that quote of him saying he wanted to stay but that the club didn't want him or he felty forced out.
There's plenty of examples of former players openly and clearly stating exactly that about their departure from us leaving no doubt that they wanted to say.
            Our ex-captain, for example.

It's not the type of thing that ex-players are shy about stating even when at other clubs.
So it shouldn't be hard to substantiate if it exists.

              • The more i see the three goals conceded today, more it looks to me that the players arnt playing for the badge never mind for Slot. No one is willing to throw themselves to stop a cross, stop a shot, stop to concede a throw in or corner NOTHING.

                  • Diaz is a big miss, but let's not kid ourselves he's no Suarez. He didn't win us the league on his own last season. The entire team wasn't built around him.

Szobozlai, Chiesa and Ali a side not a single one of the 25 players in our squad can say they have been up to scratch, and more than half them have been absolutely miles off it.

That first half was pathetic, more so than in any of our other games.

I honestly don't know where the 'blame' lies but they need to fucking sort it out.

Shows how precious little they know about the game as we were all excited he was more productive, looking better than before his injury a d about to explode the next season

                        Correct….

For CD - If a player has been told they will not get the salary they believe they are worthy of - or a contract they require at that stage of their career and they choose to leave - that is not the same as saying they wanted to leave and showed a lack of loyalty. It’s utter baloney and typical of the bullshit that clubs push through the media regarding a player they have chosen not to comply with.

The club were not going to meet his wage demands and his wages were relatively low. He is almost 29… So he had concerns.

That’s the reality. This in no way means he should have left and is a clear indicator that he would have been more than happy to stay.

We are questioning WHY the club allows arguably our biggest threat to leave.. why they did not offer him that deal… And we know…it’s primarily their model

                          But he said it, right?
We can at least agree on that.
Whether or not you believe it. That's frankly speaking your issue.

Also, you can't say he "...never said it" and then immediately after that, claim that what he said when he was at Bayern (which was EXACTLY that) is "toilet paper".
It's one of those contradiction yourself type situations.
And you're only doing it because you know I've shown you that exact quote on these boards.

In either case, your contention is that he wanted to stay and either was pushed out or was made to feel unwanted.

As I offered you before, if you have a quote from him substantiating that assertion (...."toilet paper" or not) I'd love to see it, as I'm sure most here would.
It would put more meat into your argument.
                          ...and make it less......"toilet paper"

                          Otherwise, you're making it up.
                          Plain and simple.

You can't be of the position that, ...."I don't believe what he said about what he wanted simply because he said it when he was at Bayern", ........while you're incapable of finding anything - whether it be from before or after he joined Bayern - that supports your claim the "felt" the way you claim he did.

Again, not exactly the type of thing that players historically have a hard thing stating after they leave a club, and we have several players in our recent and not-so-recent past from our own club, who've openly stated that they left because they felt unwanted.
                          Jordan, Mane,...and on and on.

Diaz is not a shy lad.
If he truly felt that, and said it, I'm sure it exists and I'm sure you'll find it and post it here because you don't like to look like the sort of person that makes shit up about what's what and feed everyone here, (**checks notes**)..... 'toilet paper'.

Anxiously awaiting with bated breath at the edge of my seat.

Agree but it's a multitude of things that are killing us.
Lack of intensity or just sheer fucking laziness in my opinion, lack of pace, lack of threat in the final third. A luxury of attack yet can't score. 1 shot in target is fucking disgusting.
There looks to me like a serious motivation issue. What exactly was his team talk prior to that game? I'd be interested to know because whatever it was it wasn't fucking good.

Ten minutes in you could see it was gonna be tough . Some players today fuckong hid, Salah the main culprit. He looked today like a player who's given up.
