What's your solution Victor? Have 4 world class players in every position so we can rotate at will? And they'll all be happy sitting on the bench of course. Instead of moaning like a spoilt brat glory hunter, tell us, what would you do?
To support Virgil - land a top class Centre Back!!!
Don't let 8 years elapse with only one France u21 International, when you have 2x sick-notes in Matip and Gomez..
Then perhaps after all those years DON'T play Mickey Mouse games with clubs like Palace when you NEED their main man at the back and refuse to pay the fee they demand.
That way a player like Virgil can last far longer than he has to date. This season he has looked way way WAY off his best from and it's totally understandable.. Yet we are utterly dependent on him still.
He's 34 FFS - only one player in Europe has played more minutes.. IF you need to ask for a solution you haven't been watching..
I don't think he's way off his best. He's playing well enough and he is 34. But do keep that in mind the next time we are in contract talks with 30+ year olds. Their form can drop off rapidly.
We did spend £26m in the summer on a young CB. It might have escaped your attention. The club likely thought that they would have enough cover with Konate, VVD, Gomez and Leoni. Unfortunately he got injured and is out for a year. Some would say that was good planning and bad luck. Not you obviously. Any chance to take a swipe at the club and you're straight in. Facts be damned.
Nobody is expecting you to look at Konate, VVD, Gomez and Leoni and be rational about it. But it is clear that Leoni was here for cover. He started against Southamption in the cup. But the plan might have to change now that he's injured. Let's see what happens in Jan. Whatever it is, you'll not be satisfied anyway.
