I don't think he cares. Just look at his performances. He knows he will pick up a contract somewhere.

    • It's not Konate's fault. He keeps getting picked because... who else plays? People weren't watching this summer. Like the club.. clueless to the dire need for a quality player beside Virgil as he transitions from 80% of our defence to something more realistic at his age and miles..

      • It is Konate's fault.

Agreed on the reason he is playing. And that was a major fuck up which we keep going back to.

But it is his fault for his shit decision making. What goes through his head?

          • 10 goals conceded from set pieces. I reckon that set piece coach is pretty shit like. Not one player on the back post for that third goal, saying that though should they even have to be told to do that.
The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Yes - but he keeps getting picked. If you are shit and you keep getting picked - whose fault is that? remember Konate cannot demand to play. Last time I looked players wait for the manager to name the starting 11..and also who sits on the bench..

Like I say. Cannot blame Konate that he is getting picked.. It's that simple

There have been matches we have lost where there were things in the set-up or the subs where I've thought "dropped points are on Slot here" and many will have felt the same.

Today though we had a controlled first half where we were going to be hard to break down, with a team selection that I think most of us largely liked.

We get the game to 2-0 and it's "done" on paper, having resisted the urge to make attacking subs at half-time. All looks well.

Then Ibou does what Ibou does a little too often (which is so frustrating as he is a genuinely good centre-back, but is clocking up more Brain Farts) and our confidence wilts. Jones sadly has a Redknapp-v-Cantona moment of not defending enough and we're level - and from that point you expect a loss due to the low confidence in the side right now.

Done well to make it 3-2 and inevitably we don't hold it.

That match has frustrated me more than the likes of the 4-1 loss as there was actually a lot done "right" today but the points are dropped due to a couple of key moments. Whereas we have had other performances that were utterly poor.

Done ourselves no favours, could have been level with Chelsea which is wild. Definitely some losses on Slot this season - no question - but agree with you that today's dropped points don't have that "this is the Manager's fault" vibe about them.

Who goes on there? You said it yourself and I have said it. They messed up not getting a cb. Right now we have virgil, Konate and gomez. Gomez is as bad at CB.
So he can go with gomez, don't see much changing unfortunatly. We needed 2 CBs got none. By next summer we will need 3 unless we get one in January

Leoni injury looking really costly now.

                    • Leeds are so poor. That makes what happened all the harder to take.
How have we ended up with a squad so thin that Gakpo plays every week and that big French lumox is undroppable.
Anyway the result from Villa Park has made my day. We're not the story this season so us and most of the league are still in with a shout of ECL qualification. I quite enjoyed the match.

                      • The manager, players, recruitment team, coaching staff, and FSG all share some of the blame. FSG aren't going anywhere, so something needs to be done about all the other culprits.

Yep with all the errors hes made, Bring back Lovren!

Did we play quite well to very well?
I'm getting really fed up with his interview nonsense now.

Yes that's the point I am making. I think Slot is making many many mistakes - but he has no choice really but to pick Konate because we have no choice at all. So Shite though Konate is - and he has never been great imo - but now while his form is in the toilet - he is being pushed out onto the pitch - where he simply cannot perform. Record revenues - a title won and we. dicked about on Guehi trying to be clever and steal him for a pittance...

I agree with all of that. Konate stays on his feet instead of sliding in and we win that game.
