  • Harvey

I just saw a report that Villa dont want him permanently and a few more games will trigger a clause where they are forced to buy.

Looks like the only option is that he comes back. He will have a point to prove and I never wanted him to go in the first place...

Thoughts? I can't imagine he would make us worse than we are at the moment?

Id have him back but slot didnt use him much and was replaced by wirtz.
Fought for the shirt more than a lot of them, being a true red isnt enough these days.

Those sorts of deals are shite and we should have never agreed to it.

Loan with option to buy or loan with mandatory purchase.

This sort of deal just stifles the players progress if the buying club is no longer interested or can’t afford to pay the fee

His height will be a great attribute for defending set pieces.

Jokes aside, there's 3 positions he could cover to varying levels in a 4-2-3-1 depending on opposition and a couple of positions in a 4-4-2 Diamond so if he did come back it might take some last-20-minutes pressure off Wirtz/Jones/Szob/Mac Allister here or there.

I do feel that a permanent move away is best for him long-term but he still has time on his side.

He can't get in the Villa team. I think his level is bottom half of the division. I think we should be looking at players with pace and power. He doesn't fit that bill

I don't mind him coming back in Jan until the end of the season. He'd be useful cover in a couple of positions. Maybe he starts instead of Mo

He loves the club & I think he would show more passion than most. Slots been a dick for not using his squad. No youngsters will come through our system. Slot is not the right man for the job but who is?If we dont see an obvious replacement then we have to back him despite our worries about guys like Harvey,Bajetic & Chiesa who will never get a chance

Jurgen only said that he was hoping Elliot would play more with the new manager after he left. Thankfully Slot stuck mostly to the same squad last season, and it bore fruit.. I like Elliot as a person. and he may add a little fire when he comes back which he will. cause no other big club will take him and i doubt he would settle for a middle of the road team.. But over all hes not up to the standards of what we need at our club. That may appear harsh but thats how things are. we see the pressure everyone is under right now. so its not just Elliot whos being treated like this.

What exactly has Florian Wirtz brought the party that Harvey Elliott couldn’t have done?
