  • Wirtz is a class act. His control and movement in tight spots is unreal. Every little touch is away from the opposition player. Real quality. The goals and assists will come. At which point the whoppers will tell us they knew he was great all along. And the cycle continues.

Exactly but probably why he's had high ratings lately.... but people don't see the small stuff

      • Believe me I watch him very closely and see everything he does.
I just wonder why others manage to see something that’s not there.

Anyone see Rogers for Villa today or Foden for City? Palmer for Chelsea??

        Wirtz is nowhere near.

        • What gives hope is when we think back to grav and szobo coming in a couple of seasons ago, they weren't setting the world alight. They've since gone on to be undroppable. I'm hoping wirtz will do the same. He's showing some lovely touches already. But, yes there are concerns about his lightweight frame and lack of end product so far.

          • Dom looked amazing when he arrived then dropped off. Grav struggled in his first season - and sadly so far is doing so again in his third.

              A fair point

                • Yeah but the point is they've come good. I think wirtz will be too and already is getting there. Isak and kerkez are more concerning right now. Frimpong looked okay if he could ever get fit.

                  • Foden,Palmer and Rogers all have prem experience under their belt.
Foden was absolutely anonymous last season too but has come back into form. It'll take time for Wirtz, he is only a young lad too in a different country. Lots of factors taking place.

I think Kerkez has been decent lately. Isak will be fine too once we start creating enough chances for him.

Yep…. Haaland was too - entire City team MIA 🤔

Hopefully Wirtz gets a wriggle on

Being asked to get further forward and being wierdly asked to be the 3rd player in the press is certainly not helping!

Also 19 is correct - he isn’t ‘struggling’ as such - I should have been clearer… more that he’s struggling to match his blistering form of last season. but as you say - different role and setup

                            • My gripe is spending £100m on Wirtz when we could have pushed Villa for Rogers last summer. That would have been my preference at the time, been going on about him on here for a good year or two.

                              • Write a letter to the club explaining your concerns. It will give everyone a good laugh over Xmas.

Nobody cares who you wanted to sign. Get over it.
