Do you think any of our players will retire on the Wirral? They and the other staff are paid to come to LFC and do a job. It's a career. Most of them will live around the city while doing their job and may end up liking the place. I don't know too many who retire in Liverpool. Most will go back home. Vivid memories for me as a 7 year old kid(nearly 8) in early 1976,watching clips on Football Focus of the swaying kop and the all red kit....A few months later listening to the final game away at Wolves on BBC radio with me old Great Uncle and being delighted we won 3-1 and took the title....Been hooked ever since....

That's a good post. I suspect for a lot of people the answer looks something like that. And we're getting to the point. The support for LFC has nothing to do with affinity for the city, at least not initially. That might come over time.

If you'd seen Lincoln City on the tele instead of Liverpool back then, you might be a Lincoln City fan today. Or mabye not. Because the success of the club likely plays a role in continued support. Again, at least initially. If you'd seen Liverpool once and they faded off into the old Division 2, would you still be a fan as an 8 year old. Probably not.

Which leads us back to my controversial but pointed and probably accurate "glory hunter" tag. Like it or not, there's a large element of glory hunting in almost every fan who is not from the city.

Agree. Anywhere else on the pitch red card for reckless/dangerous challenge.
Question is, why isn't it a red card just because of where it takes place, and because a goal is scored?

Late to the party here but it was shocking that spurs were 2 men down & going for our throat. Absolute embarrassment & with 11 players....4-2 to spurs. Shocking lack of bottle from the ex mentality monsters. Seems to me that a lot of players dont wanna play for Slot there's no other reason to drop their standards so low

I don’t think the majority of the players believe in Slot’s 4231 overplaying a gross imbalance in players looking to be in space and players picking up and his persistence with trying to install Wirtz as a superstar playmaker and all the players in space instead of picking up making our press and counter press go to complete shit, there to make meaningless sideways and backwards nothing passes and for Wirtz to try and play playmaker off, it’s a nonsense and too many players know it, they not what made them serial winners and Slot’s idea is a very long way from that
