      • Slot’s not fooling anyone not even himself

Win it with Jurgen’s team playing Jurgen’s way

Tried to implement his own way that those who know the game and the history of this league (so not you Joke Shop) know was always a non starter and he’s completely fucked it

So he hasn’t had 3 months he’s had 18 months to assess all the players, the league, changed things that didn’t need changing as through his misguided self belief he thought he could reinvent the wheel and the result of that is catastrophic

He’s completely fucked it and the longer he stays there it has become

I can't remember that happening during the Klopp era, their keeper had it far too easy.
It happened under Klopp, he called out the fans for doing it saying it left him feeling lonely.

Will be interesting if Xabi takes over.

He plays 3421 normally, and our squad would be reasonably capable of playing that system.

Given his experiences at Real with player power, it'll be interesting to see who he keeps at LFC.

For me this season a lot of our struggles come down to 4 players. VVD, Konate, MacA & Salah. All been way off it this season. 2 older icons, and 2 linked to real.

          • Like Slot you refuse to see the system you’ve always advocated and refused to accept wouldn’t work for so very many football reasons is the issue

It might have had half a chance if we’d kept our best wide forwards and there was no insistence on playing short passes and trying to make all the play go through one player, drastically limiting the creative output of several others in the process

But that’s not where we are

            • I think you should adapt you setup based on the players you have, to maximise your squad and address changes in the game.

In terms of our squad in its latter years prior to this summer's dealings, I've contended our best 11 would be in 4231 & it would maximise the players within the squad. It would also address changes in the game. Slot played 4231 last year and we won the league.

This season, the 4 players I've listed above VVD, Konate, MacA & Salah are a bigger problem than our summer transfer business or Slot.
I've lots of critiques of Slot posted. But this season, hes been stuck with 4 big players underperforming. Thats a massive issue.

Attitude is most important, you need effort, thereafter formations come into it. Not sure there's any formation that can accommodate VVD, Konate, MacA & Salah being miles off.

There's certainly something rotten in the state of Liverpool. From what I've seen on the pitch, players have a lot to answer for.

Myself and Kev0 at least earlier this season discussed 3421 given the squad. I haven't always advocated 4231. In contrast you only ever want 433 and refuse to accept Slot played 4231 last year when be won Number20.

We only just have enough centre halves to play a back 4. We'd have to go out and buy at least 3 more for 5 at the back.

                  • I know Slots brand of football isn’t exciting but yesterday we missed a pen, had 2 cleared off the line, 1 disallowed for offside, amongst shed loads of other chances and we concede after giving the ball away cheaply (under hit pass by Konate) with their only shot on target in 90 mins.

Given the quality of players on the field, you’d expect to score more than 1 with 11 shots on target.

Not sure Slot can be to blame for that result.

I know you’ll never accept it

What you’ve written there is a fairytale

We transitioned into many formations as we always did in games in the 433

The best use of a LFWD or RFWD is as a forward not a winger or attacking midfielder

We changed to 4231 this season it’s clearly visible, that wasn’t the case last season Mo was frequently furthest forward because he’s a forward and that worked really well for us

Diaz & Gakpo were otherwise often furthest forward when it wasn’t Mo

The entire shape and dynamics has clearly changed this season it’s very clear with and without the ball

Think 5 would be enough for the season, and you could use a non-CB on occasion in a back 3. If Alonso took over shortly, think we'd see something like.

                        • In the last 17 games, Slot has averaged 1.24 points a game. Roy Hodgeson averaged 1.25

How many league titles did Hodgson win with LFC?

Get your Gooner mate to help you count them.

                            • Why do cowardly shithouses always pick select games? Last 17 games. Losses in 2025.

Overall win rate is how you compare managers.

How does Hodgson compare to Slot in that metric.

                              • Yawn won it with Klopp’s team without injuries won through the direct play Klopp instilled in them, Slot did engage in more needless over playing but it was the team doing what tht been honed to do for years that got games won

Sold a key player from the winning of it, key in so many ways but especially in breaking lines and opening teams up

Then, and this is the crucial part, he ripped that system and team and all the dynamics of what made them title winners that are absolutely necessary to be title winners in this league up and tried to adopt a way of playing that was completely alien to the majority of the players

Also in a way not as advertised as in not how he played at Feyenoord

He thought he could reinvent the wheel took out all the directness and wide forwards on the line furthest forward, switches, long diagonals, destroyed the press and counter press with his formation change and absolutely strangled so much individual ability and goals being created out of different relationships all over the pitch by trying to insist on short passing and all the play going through one player

                                Absolute madness

2 massive long standing LFC rules

If it ain’t broken don’t fix it

It’s not about the short ball or the long ball it’s about the right ball

What a clown 🤡 he needs to go I’d prefer De Zerbi he’s another like Klopp who has teams overachieve and did that in the Premier League
