Just read we’ve conceded 3 or more 7 times this season. Says a lot.

Managers aren't going to get as good a pre-season this Summer with players, given the World Cup.Originally posted by darrenpotter View PostDoes a psg hammering next week see him gone? Surely does at this stage
I'd hope if we were to make any move, it would be soon - whoever comes in needs every opportunity to lay some groundwork.

It must be very difficult for Slot to get the players to listen when they know hes not gonna be around after May.
Everyone is just going through the motions. This is where you expect leadership from the players. And our captain has been dire and should be relieved of his duties at the end of the season. I think we have an excellent replacement in Szoboszlai.
Hes the best attacking midfield we have and should be placed further forward. He spent most of his time protecting Gomez at right back today.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

Honestly, 42 conceded in the League is bad enough for me, never mind the other goals.Originally posted by eggy81 View Post51 goals conceded this season across major comps. Holy shit.
We could quite easily reach 50 League goals conceded. For context, the 13/14 side which everyone considered to be incredibly porous due to our open, attacking style of play ended up conceding 50 in the League by season's end.
For most of the season (probably 35-of-38 games...) we didn't mind that as we were clocking up so many goals. Indeed, our goal tally for the League alone that season was a ridiculous 101, which made for some seriously fun matches - thumping Arsenal (with 4 of our goals coming in the first 20 minutes) being a real highlight.
This season however it's not a somewhat planned trade-off so much as us just being poor, as we have barely outscored our concession rate, with a pretty tame effort of 50 League goals scored thus far.
It's a minor miracle (the first 5 League games of the season say "hello") that we aren't mid-table just now.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

Souness was a little before my time in terms of being able to understand or take anything in, so the worst thus far for me has been Hodgson, comfortably - though it was mercifully not a terribly long spell of time.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostOnly Souness and the Owl have been worse but if Slot stays long enough he will surpass them both
31 matches in charge, with 13 wins. Of those, 20 of the matches were in the League, with us only winning 7 of them.
13 wins, 9 draws and 9 losses in the 31 games overall, with 41 scored and 33 conceded.
Stats aside, the matches were absolutely unwatchable.
Overall win percentage was 41.9%, but if we isolate the 17 League games that came after the opening 3, that win rate was right down at 35.3%.
What a crap time that was, especially with 08/09 still being relatively fresh in our minds and even 09/10 having contained a respectable run to the Europa League semi-finals.

Large chunks of that 6-year spell were really underwhelming. So few Champion's League games in that timeframe. Let's hope nothing similar is on the Horizon.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

It certainly does.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostSouness was criticised for changing too much too quickly… sound familiar?
Do feel change was needed though, so I have some degree of sympathy with certain aspects of it - but yeah, rough season.
Nearly over at least

We are so broken, the fight drained so quickly after the penalty.slot is not a hands on manager, hendo was miles better captain than virgil, there is no one pulling the players together.we may have bought better players but slot ripped the soul out of the squad by getting rid of nunez, tisamikas, diaz, elliot and losing arnold and jota.the worry is how many players are happy at liverpool, how many are ready to fight to get liverpool back up there, how many would be happy to pack there bags and go play elsewhere.
A new manager has to fix that before anything else.

I think it was Red October who said a few days back that the hardest thing to take is how our hopes have been completely shattered.
Winning that title last season had us believe we were back in the big time ( we always were under Klopp btw) but it lead us to think the transition had been seamless and completed.
Now we look like we were when Klopp took over. Not in terms of our players but how utterly shambolic we are in every area of the pitch. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Difference with Souness is that he brought in a load of shite.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostSouness was criticised for changing too much too quickly… sound familiar?
Arne (or the Transfer) team didn't, which makes Arne's effort even worse!Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

I said it back in august there was more than a hint of the souness era about the mass changes and got ridiculed...won't go with the i told you so. But.....i would nearly have brodge in there now we would be somebit easy on the eye whatever fuckaboutery has gone on is crazy stuff that shouldn't have happened. Explained my reasoning on jota and impact on team before but a team thats unfit is just wild...i dont understand it how players with everything laid on for them are not fit or at peak stamina seems insane it really has to reside with slot. I think klopp is a possibility to return i really do.
