Right, enough of the negativity doing the rounds. If you want to moan, there are plenty of other threads for that. This is a positive space for those of us who actually want to support the manager.

Let's get some perspective here, Slot won the league last season. That earns him the right to time and patience while he rebuilds this squad properly. We have a lot of new players to integrate. Rome wasn't built in a day.

And before anyone starts with the "but we're playing rubbish" nonsense, we haven't even seen the final picture yet. We need to see Kerkez, Isak, Wirtz, Frimpong, Ekitike, and Leoni all on the pitch together before anyone can properly judge what Slot is building here. You don't assess a puzzle when you've only got half the pieces on the table.

Arne will have his vision of the future. He's shown he can win trophies. He's rebuilding with purpose. So how about we get behind him instead of writing him off before the project is even complete?

If you can't be positive, scroll past. I realise that rules out 90% of the forum but we need to move beyond all the moaning. It's killing this place.

      Fulham pre-match presser.

Very honest assessment from Arne. Classy guy. Seems a little frustrated at times, though I think this came straight after the Leeds match.

        After the Fulham 2-2 game:

We score two goals in an away game and we hardly concede a chance, you’d expect to win. I don’t know what it is but we concede incredible goals and we don’t concede many chances. We want to create more from the ball possession we have. For the players we had available, we played a decent game. We were close to a good result but we gave it away at the end.
        That's a fair summary.

I've been aboard the slot express..... but the ship is slowly sinking, hopefully he turns it around, we can't afford not to be in the champions league, and if you think FSG won't act if it looks like we could possibly miss out, you're more optimistic than me

you can't really say things are getting much better...hopefully it improves before it's too late.

Top 5 will probably be enough for a CL spot next season. If he manages that then I think he'll be ok.

Well yeah, I hope so because in my opinion it's chelsea or us for 4th, obviously doesn't matter if top5 is enough, bit crazy this stage of season only 6pts between 4th and 11th mind, but let's be real I very much doubt anyone else is in the race, but who knows.

There's still a long way to go. I don't think it's a shoe in for Villa to finish in the top 4. Realistically any side outside of City and Arsenal can have massive swings in form over the second half of the season.

Do you agree we probably really need top4/5 whatever it is though ? think we'll be in a bit of trouble without it, but what do I know

Hopefully in 10 games time we'll be fairly "comfortable" and not have to worry about it.

I'm really not sure. I think 4th or 5th guarantees his place next season. What if we were to finish 6th but our performances have improved? Also depends on which managers are available next summer. It's a World Cup year so none of those will be moving until after it's over. Lots of variables.

I think Slot is a good manager. His tactical subs were great last season. I like the players we bought in the summer. So fingers crossed we get a CL spot and keep a bit of consistency going at the club. But performances will need to improve at some point and once we have everyone fit I believe they will.

I'm just thinking about the FFP bollocks as we spent a lot in the summer, might be a bit tight if we miss out? can't see us getting a CB/no6/attacker I think we do need them.... without it, and then obviously might be a bit harder to get targets we want without europe

but i'm not pretending to know what i'm talking about, I just worry.... think it'll set us back a few bob though that's for sure and effect us, but maybe we'll be fine!

it's all guesswork at the moment and next summer- and who knows we might bring someone in this window, but we don't have a clue about future of Salah and konate yet, one things for sure I don't want to go into next season with even less depth.

Slot fits in well with what FSG are expecting of him. I can’t see them getting rid unless results really nose dive.

4th place is still on, and that has to be the target. The teams below are as equally as bad so 4th is still a possibility

                            Top 3 are gone

Putting this here too because I think it's relevant:

Slot himself has said that we're not creating enough opportunities with the possession we have. He wants more too. But we're a team that is low on confidence and plagued with injuries. We're not going to go from 0 to 100 in a few games. If you're pissed because we're not winning the league this season again then you're just going to be continually disappointed every game.

It's time to reset expectations. It will be a work in progress for the rest of the season. We can hope for better performances, a top 4 finish and maybe a good cup run along the way. If that's not for you hen check back in at the end of the season and see how we've done and save yourself weekly grief.
