Correct me if im wrong but once pep leaves hes the most successful manager in the league?

    "in the league"?
(as in,....based on the success they've achieved in the Premier League).

Arsenal fans would (legitimately) argue it's Arteta
(....although he's won just the two trophies).

Emery is an overall more successful manager, (.... and arguably a better tactitian, when you consider the resources he had at his disposal when he achieved succes...) but most of his success - of which he has won more than Arteta - has come outside the Premier League and primarily in European competitions.

True - Arsenal fans would call Arteta…. and for comparison between Arteta & Klopp

        • Prime Klopp Liverpool wipe the bloody floor with this so called Prime Arteta Arsenal.
It’s a poor failure of the rest of the league to have a half decent season, that Arsenal have won the league. They are a hideous team to watch and play cowardly football, fouling their way in front with a set piece goal then do what they are actually good at and defend for the rest of the game.

There’s a real opportunity going forward with Pep finishing, there’s not much to beat.

That's another frustration. When we had the best manager since kenny we were up against prime pep.

No - that old chestnut completely lets the owners off the hook. NEVER forget they acquired this club for pennies on the dollar.

Our net spend has been puny compared to our rivals, yet we still missed out on the league by one point twice. The subsequent drop-off wasn't inevitable.... it was a direct result of penny-pinching. Klopp was forced to manage a razor-thin squad because club revenues were being diverted to fast-track repayments for infrastructure loans.

This is exactly why Klopp highlighted the stands and the AXA training ground in his Diary of a CEO interview, explicitly stating, "I had no idea there was this money." That’s as close as Klopp will ever get to calling out FSG. They haven't injected a penny of their own capital. They sit on billions, leveraging the club's success while forcing it to self-fund capital projects at breakneck speed because they were positioning it for a sale (which only collapsed because United went on the market simultaneously).

Let's be real here - we would have at least three league titles under Klopp if he had been backed properly instead of being handicapped by the owners.

Yeah. I'm not disputing Klopp wasn't backed much. It's just frustrating that now he's gone suddenly Pep's gone and the standard of the league has dropped vastly. In fairness, that could pick up next season, who knows. The fact that united finished comfortably in 3rd having played the way they did early in the season....kind of says it all about the Premier League this season.

Yep agree... just wanted to make it clear though. Had we backed Klopp properly - we aren't talking about anything other than one of the most golden of eras.. It pains me - it PISSES ME OFF to the hilt that Arteta will end up with as many titles as Jurgen Klopp. Think about that. Ranieri too at Friggin Leicester City...!! It's a shame and Henry and his minions take the blame.

                  • The real comparison for Arteta should be Slot. Arne brought in only a half crocked Chiesa and stormed to the title.

                      • Here’s one - does anyone actually believe Arne Slot was even involved in the capture of Fede?

As I understand it - It was H’edwards. and rumour has it Richard Hughes led the charge.

The club's data and recruitment team - overseen by FSG CEO of Football, Michael Edwards - identified Chiesa as a massive market opportunity. Because he was in the final year of his contract and out of favor at Juventus, they could pick up a high-profile international for a heavily cut-price fee (around £10m–£12.5m). Hughes was the one who made the initial direct phone call to Chiesa to pitch the move

Agree. A reflection of what the premier league is now. It's stagnant and boring, it's been shit since Klopp left.
Like Tennis when tennis became sterile with power serving. All the characters left the game and yiu just had robots battering aces constantly. I checked out of tennis when Sampras started to dominate.
