It's a fair point Kev makes. Frimpong did play as an attacking Rb for Bayer in the much less taxing Bundesliga..but really he is a right sided attacking mid or forward. We have bought him - AS usual because he is seen as super utility. Meaning he can play multiple positions from attack to defence. Now I think he is a great signing BUT the fact that Dom has had to play the role so often tells you that we have 1x young injury prone dedicated RB in Conor.. That's it..!

We're an elite club - supposedly - when you add that to the fact that in over 8 years we have sourced and captured just 1 senior CB (and he a France u21) you can be forgiven for having a moan.

He was bought as a RB, started the the season at RB. The fact that he can play as a winger is a bonus.

Dom playing at RB is what happens when you lose both players in any one position. Or you play a youngster. Would be the same if we had both Kirkez and Robbo injured at the same time.

An argument can certainly be made about the quality of the CBs, but even if we had Beresi, Cannavaro and Maldini to complement VVD, we'd still have had to play Grav at CB last if they were injured.

He could be bought as club chairman or a stand in for Mighty Red to prance up and down outside the Kop… - makes little difference does it. We bought an attacking midfielder or Forward who played for a time at RB in Germany as our replacement for Trent. Widely considered to be one of - if not - the best RB’s in the game. That was to go with Bradley - a player as yet unproven for any length of time and who has consistently shown to be injury prone.

It’s not fair to suggest that we really addressed the situation adequately. Bad luck on both players being injured yes - but we are paper thin.

But he's always been a RWB well mostly for Leverkusen and we don't play with 3 CB's , bit of a strange one not saying we shouldn't have got him btw.. he played as a RB for celtic but that's scotland...

Bit like buying 2 no9's ... confusing when we could've got a top LW who could play as striker if needs be, and do better than gakpo at it.... we seemed obsessed with Isak, like there was no other options.

Bit strange when the players don't really fit the formation, the summer incomings all a bit confusing.

Spot on. Frimpong looks a quality attacking RB and gives us cover at RW if we need it. What exactly is wrong with that?

When multiple players in the same position get injured we're going to struggle. Every club is the same.

Somewhat agree.... but most clubs starters tend to be reliable...... if classed as a starter, and not out injured most of the time, all the time.

Bradley can't be the #1 RB going forward i'm afraid.

Attacking fullbacks are all good.... but there's a reason clubs with them play 3 CB'S and use them as wingbacks.... we don't even play with a proper no6

We already concede goals for fun.

Slot on January 30: "He will definitely not be in the squad tomorrow, so he is out for a few weeks. But [it's] not as bad as we thought he would be out. It's something positive from something not so positive."
A bit of good news on the injury front.

I thought Jeremie was one of our best against Fulham today.

Yeah did ok without being outstanding which you could say about the team performance as a whole, except of course for young Rio who was outstanding

Makes a hell of a difference when you're full back in Frimpong's case also in Rios when your player takes on the opposition player and makes them make a decision.. we play in front of the opponents way too often. and pass back and forth across the front of them.
