Souness replaced top quality players with poor imitations. Stewart, Dicks, Kozma and Piechnik all spring to mind.

Slot has bought top quality players. So nothing like Souness. But carry on.

indeed - but worth noting that he didn’t walk into a team rebuilt - but rather one that needed a rebuild. The fact that he built a pile of shyte is another matter.

Early Bob Paisley. My first memory that sticks is Keegan going to Hamburg.in 1977...

I was really hoping Slot would be a Bob and not a Rafa!

Was referring to Keegan being replaced by Kenny but yeah, a few of us were saying on here we hoped Slot would turn out to be Paisley following Shanks, as Klopp was most definitely our modern day Shankly.

Kenny for me. I was about 1988 when I first supported or had an interest but probably 91 or so by the time I was fully invested. So you can blame me for the 90s.

If 4 managers are amazingly successful with it for so many years and one changes it and it fucks everything up you surely have to see it
Shanks team were terrible to watch compared to Kenny’s team in my humble opinion.

Man. I remember thinking it’s only a matter of time before clough comes good for months that season. I really thought he’d be a star. Not to be unfortunately. I was probably very deluded about us fir much of the 90s

Got schooled by Red Star Belgrade at home and away. Hadn't lost at Anfield in an age. My old fella was at the game and said he had never seen anything like it.

They were pragmatic.. Got results domesticaly - but needed to up their game for the best in Europe..

Could PSG be the modern day equivalent..?

Tom Watson. The free flowing, lightning quick, one touch football we played was truly a sight to behold.
