Ibrahima Konate back in France for family reasons. Remains to be seen whether he links up with the squad in Marseille.
          James Pearce, The Athletic

          Might be Gomez partnering VvD.

Slot saying Konate did not travel with the squad and is in France for family reasons. Doesn't sound like he'll play.

Gomez more than capable but was hoping he'd play at RB so Frimpong gets a go further forward...

Hopefully nothing too serious for his family if the rumours are true. The timing is a worry though. Obviously things happen but mid January window, contract up in the summer...?

I know he is an accident waiting to happen so often but what reliable senior long term options do we have IF he were to go this window?

is he capable of lasting a few games without being injured rest of the season though?

He'll join bradley soon i reckon if he has to play a lot, he always does, it's the same shit every season.

Nope... Sadly this has been known for more than 8 years. And why only 1 senior CB addition since Jan 2018 is laughable.

As I said in another thread, wouldn't cry if we got another RB if we got 2 CBs in the summer. and gomez can leave but I doubt that'll happen as we need too much as always. I mean he's 28 now in FSG terms that's old, like Chiesa, endo- i just see no point in them but I don't think we can afford to replace them on top of other areas.

He's out of contract in 2027, on that note i've opened a new topic to discuss

Tonight is just another chance to make qualification via the league stage a sure thing. Last season taught us that winning it is no guarantee of an easy knockout round. Crazy system.

Get through it and hopefully we go on a long run... perhaps even another Istanbul...? IF we could win big ears the season after a title - that would be really something. A massive boost in capturing the players we are going to need to remain in elite bracket.

I think we'll go far in the CL, hopefully Isak comes back whilst we still in it, Salah regains his form and we can outplay the more open teams at H and grind it out A. Maybe our esteemed xfer committee are waiting to see if we look like guaranteed top 8 finish before reinforcing defence and midfield lolol.

Looks like we need 2 wins to guarantee top 8. It's getting tight for the spots 4 to 8 after city losing and sporting Lisbon beat psg.

4 points might do it, but 6 to guarantee it.

                            6 gets us to 18..

                            16 probably enough..

We need too much as we bought a No10 for 115m and a second No9 for 125m we needed neither of abd could have spent that money on Yildiz, Semenyo and a CB so we’d only need a CB & RB this summer

We don’t play to Isak’s strengths either I’m afraid like too many of our players
