  • Robbo not to be retained

One of the rumours circling is that Robbo isn’t to be offered a new contract

It will be a sad day indeed to see him leave been hard seeing him underused this season given his better delivery would be of be of greater use against low block teams and his crossfield he used to play for Trent played for Frimpong

WHAT an incredible player he’s been for us Has that brilliant assist for Ekitke to his name this season too

Who knows what truth there is in these rumours. It wouldn't surprise me if it was more or less mutual. He doesn't like sitting on the bench. I hope he has a great world cup and if he leaves us, gets his move to Celtic.
Left back has always been a chronic problem position for us down the years. He was probably the best ever (steve nicol tho too maybe)

Was glad you added Steve Nicol , I used to love him , if Robbo does go it would be a big miss, not just for his quality also because I think he adds so much to the group , he seems to be the one of the glues that holds this squad together

He should be retained but if he doesn't want to sit on the bench then there's nothing the club can do. By far the best left back we've had since I started supporting in the mid 90s and it will be sad to see him go. Yet another position that will need added depth in the summer, we'll need at least 5 players but possibly 6 or 7 if others leave.

One of the best of all time in his position for our club and a great man as a person. His dignity in talking about his great friendship with Diogo was everything we want and more from people who play for LFC. Throroughly deserved all the silverware he's won with us and it's great that such a top bloke will lead his country at their first World Cup for nearly 30 years.

He's the type of fella to carry others through a storm, an incredible mentality, infectious and hands down the best left back in PL history as I see it.

Robbo has been a great left back and a pleasure to watch over the years. He's obviously coming to an end at LFC. I hope he gets the next contract he wants, wherever that is.

We effectively lost him and Trent in the same summer. That's a huge loss to any team. Luckily Frimpong and Kerkez are stepping up to fill their shoes.

Thanks 19x. I'm still on here now and then. It's a shame the forum has gotten a bit toxic. Different opinions are fine but the personal attacks are uncalled for.

We're really in the last days of Klopp's great team now with Robbo leaving in the summer and then Salah Van Dijk and probably Alisson being gone by the summer after. Inevitable but sad all the same.

It’s not all doom and gloom as there are the makings of another really good team amongst the current crop. The owners are going to have to continue to dip into their pockets though as Slot or any other manager are unlikely to be the miracle worker that Klopp was

My favourite player from the Klopp era by some distance. Absolutely opitomised everything about Klopp's reign.

Didn't cost a fortune, gets forward at every opportunity, indefatigable and goes right until the end of the game.

We have to hope that some of the newer and current players pick up some of the leadership mantel from the old heroes. Think we're seeing it from Szobo, but nobody else is really giving me a 'Senior Leadership' kind of vibe.

I hear that Jozza a very good point

Szobo’s captain of his national team so that will help It’s always good to have a few captains in your team

I think one of the strengths under Jurgen was the communication and players directing each other without anyone getting butt hurt

We were a bit spoilt too captain or captain material we had Alisson Robbo Virgil Hendo Millie Mane Mo but they ball pitched in

I think the current players need to be encouraged to communicate and direct and help each other more as there’s some good captain material there

Sky reporting ‘preliminary talks’. Spuds already have 2 left backs, and have just signed another young LB from Brazil. This might suggest Slot has told Robbo he can go. Otherwise, why not just stay on for now then move to Celtic on a free in the summer and finish his career in style at a club he loves? Strange one as it would leave us short. Unless Tsimikas is coming back? God help us if that’s the case!

I loved Robbo getting right into opposition players when we were right on the press when he’s arrive into of them as they received it to stop them getting turned and the “Who’s in the final?” after Suarez injured him in the 4-0 drubbing of Barcelona

We’ve be absolutely ruined with so many sensational nights
