Wow I wouldn’t do that while we’re in 3 comps still, it might even be Robbo as he’ll want game time to be ready for the World CupOriginally posted by Rusty Shackleford View PostAndy Robertson transfer news: Tottenham and Liverpool in preliminary talks over signing Scotland left-back. Sky Sports news top headline currently.
Robbo’s a character and a leader and very influential in training in the dressing room, pretty much everywhere I hope he stays until the end of the season and maybe picks up another trophy if we continue improving"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Just found this in The Athletic
‘Tsimikas is currently on loan at Roma, but has found his opportunities limited in Italy, where he has made only four Serie A starts. Roma would be willing to cut short the Greek international's loan deal, as long as they can themselves source a replacement for him’"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Could be that Robbo wants game time before the World Cup, and FSG want to scrape a few quid for him now instead of a free in the summer. It would be a sad end to a legendary time at Liverpool. I watch ‘Inside Anfield’ on YouTube all the time with my 9 year old LFC addicted son, and Robbo is clearly the biggest character in the club. Always supportive and up for a laugh. That goes way beyond anything on the pitch.Jesus saves...but Dalglish scores the rebound...

Sounds like Spurs were going to try and to get him in the summer on a free. Robbo won't be happy being second choice to Kerkez. It may have sounded ok initially for him to stay and fight for his place but reality is likely kicking in for him now. Not long left in his career and wants to play as much as possible. The north London club initially identified Robertson as a target for this summer and planned to be among multiple suitors vying to recruit the Scotland international as a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.
But that pursuit was brought forward in an effort to strengthen head coach Thomas Frank’s squad immediately and amicable negotiations between all parties are advancing as Spurs attempt to land the 31-year-old left-back.
Can only imagine if Robbo leaves this window that Tsimikas is coming back.Last edited by JockStrap; 23 January 2026, 12:42 PM.

He’s one of our most influential leaders who would be sorely missed and he’s only 31 so has a good 4 or more years left
I would hope he stays as there is still an awful lot Kerkez can learn from him in my opinion
Kerkez learning from Robbo on performing better with the ball would be ideal in my view I had hoped for more hands with Robbo playing for Kerkez to observe from the bench for this reason
I’m happy we got Kerkez or course he was almost all our choices for a new LB but I’d have expected more shared game time for the reasons stated and a better transition"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

It's a strange one this, his playing situation isn't going to change moving there. They have a few players at LB. It's not like his world cup place will be under threat, maybe he's concerned about match practice? But that's not going to get any better at Spurs.Last edited by teesred; 23 January 2026, 01:38 PM.The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

It is maybe they want him for his leadership and Chsmoions League experienceOriginally posted by teesred View PostIt's a strange one this, his playing situation isn't going to change moving there. He won’t go unless he’s guaranteed minutes and he has been hugely underused here especially given what Jerkez could learn from him"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

he wants to play, Kerkez is the main man now he's settled too, The greek can come back and cover, he's not brilliant, but neither is robbo now.Originally posted by JockStrap View PostIf Robbo leaves, it will be because he wants to leave. The article clearly states Spurs approached us and all sides are working amicably. If Robbo wants to stay at LFC he can say no.
First of the old boys golden era to go- next up salah vvd etc.
Sad to lose him, but it's better for us to do it now, instead of having everyone leave at the same time in the future.
