I think slot is too passive mentally , I don’t think he can connect with the players to get them up for anything , I think he’s a good coach , too nice ?? Too calm ?? To passive ?? The players don’t respond to him , I think he’s speaks sense , he just can’t get into the players psyche

Time to go unfortunately. The whole summer was a fucking joke. Selling all our decent squad options who had settled into their roles and almost constantly deliver 7/10 performances to bring in wirtz and isak. All we had to do was sign a great cb a Diaz replacement and a rb and we’d be levels better than we are now. As it is we will have to re you’d for 2 or 3 seasons now. Squad is a mess

We were actually very good at the start. Dominated them and should have gone ahead on the play but didn’t get any shots off and then out of the blue Virgil rick far post no danger and the score. Then soon after as Gomez was injured in the debacle for the first goal - we faffed around trying to get Endo on to replace him and with 10 men they score for 2:0.Originally posted by trueandred View PostI didn't see the game as I was working. Second half and we were agin on top - Virgil scores from a corner… The after 73 mins Cody is replaced by Rio - who starts to create chances and commit their player. he wins a FK and Dom scores indirectly from that.
More even game after that Cherries came at us to be fair and last gasp we fall apart.

We were good for a portion inthe second half after he made some substititions, but then the same problems persisted at the back and we were open as fuck, with Bournemouth getting plenty of chances to win the game eariler before they finally did in the final minute.Originally posted by trueandred View PostI didn't see the game as I was working. Some of Slot's changes to blame.
(Even while they did help).
Taking out Frimpong (...who didn't have a bad game) and then having to move Szobo at right back (presumably to accomodated Jones and not have to take out Wirtz) as a result definitely weakened us in midfield while Szobo himself was exposed in a position he's not as familiar playing - with that contributing to our openness.
Van Dijk was our only starting back four defender to finish the game - with the injuries and substititions to the other three - and ironically he was to blame for first two goals, at least.'I got told there's an English phrase, 'You don't win trophies with kids'. I didn't know that' ... - Jurgen Klopp

It’s the needless overpassing for me it’s absolutely killing usOriginally posted by Kev0909 View PostPlayed alright at the start, noone wanted to Shoot for some reason then gifted them 2 goals for the fun of it and it was an uphill battle from then.
When we played direct quickest route to goal in as few passes as possible it worked because when players were put in they’d take one touch and shoot
With this passing for the sake of it, trying to walk it in they get played in sane positions and don’t know whether to pass it shoot"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Lets be fair, and realistic. Bournmouth were better than us in defence, attack, movement in possesion and closing us down. If you dont see that..... well.
But why was it , if you ask and see what transpired it is obvious.
They defend , get the ball and pass, pass pass right through the whole team and we scramble.
We get the ball even on the break, and we pass side to side then back and all our players are walking into a massed defence.
Game after game all season( except when we ran and closed down the GOOD teams)
Our whole problem is MOVEMENT off the ball, to recieve a pass and to defend their out ball.
The players need the commitment and drive these so called lesser teams show against us.
But who can motivate them (like Klopp), who can bollock them?
Picking two absolutely useless players (out of position) to steady the defence is a scandal.Last edited by Bredred; 24 January 2026, 07:50 PM.The best friendships are built on a solid foundation of alcohol, cake, sarcasm and a dislike of the same people.

Everyone saying the sane thingOriginally posted by fiordearg View PostWe moved on 10 plus players last season and its made the team disjointed. There was obviously no coherence in the transfer strategy with the existing squad. We are adhering to a system that is not dynamic."If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
