I don't know what the hell the rest of you are talking about but that was a great match.
But then again,....I got to the match right before Hugo opened the scoring with his first.
What?
I assume it was just as great before that?
On any other day you could give MOTM to any one of Hugo, Wirtz or Konate, but ultimately it's the last of those three that edged it.
Solid at the back with his best defensive game for us, and completely shut down Gordon for the rest of the game and then wrapped up the game with a goal at the end to put the tie to bed.

Stone-Cold Savage!
Booooooom get the fucking FUCK in FT 4-1 up the bum job done baws deep no kissing
We HAVE TO keep playing like that Wirtz starting in the midfield 3 moving into the pockets arriving into the space joining the strikers and linking with them
But play with the tempo intensity directness and variation
Press and counter press and directing each other was much better tonight
Szobo at right back? He was immense too, and the midfield worked better even though he’s been our best midfielder
As ever all the focus on continuing to improve on everything we have the last 2 games and on the next game and getting the win

Don’t anyone take this the wrong way please, but coming together around Ibou and playing as we want them too might just galvanise us for a great end to the season

Still not got that midfield working properly defensively but that was easily our best attacking display for the last hour of that game.
Ok Newcastle ran out of steam after their Champions League exploits but you still have to finish.
Can we build on it? Well we absolutely need to after our recent run of woeful results.
MOTM Ibou for the performance and for capping a perfect night by scoring in front of the Kop.
Easily Wirtz best game for us, Gakpo’s best performance of the season and more absolute brilliance from Ekitike
But what are we going to do about Mo? That was bloody awful again.
Still got an assist though 😉
I think he’s not yet adopted to losing half a yard he’s expecting to have raced clear then hasn’t and is rushed in his finish or not in as good a position to
