I'd be up for seeing us try it at some stage in matches here and there as I think it could work, though the thought of playing one for 65-70 minutes and then bringing on the other holds huge appeal if ego isn't an issue. Improve the chances of keeping them both injury free as we (hopefully!!!) go deep in Premier League and Champion's League each season they're here. Also as you say, up top should be Ekitike's while he plays like this and if this is his level (appears to be) or perhaps better, who would change it?Originally posted by Kev0909 View PostIndeed, a very good point
I often wonder if Hugo could be good at LW, he's got the quality for it, and the right attributes.. but could he track back? I don't really want to move him there either if he's not that effective obviously no9 is currently his own, but it's the only way I can see both getting into the team, unless we change formation to something that's not very common and probably for a reason in the prem.
Using them both as a front two in the Diamond also an option, though I do feel they both bias themselves slightly to the left so could see them getting in each other's way making certain runs.
All Managers have their "picks" and Gakpo looks like he'll occupy the left more often than not, which might mean we don't see it.
It's lovely to think we have one of those "nice problem to have" situations for next season. Main thing for me is flanking whoever plays up top. If we think of Ekitike as our Torres or our Firmino, then we need to find his Riera-and-Kuyt or his Mane-and-Salah as it were, hopefully in a similar age bracket to Ekitike and Wirtz so we can have a bright attacking future ahead.
Salah's contribution to the club has been ridiculous but the days of building around him are past.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool
Sid knows he's crazy and he likes it. Balinkay

Did we drop the overpassing and play direct to win this game?Originally posted by JockStrap View PostThe bed wetting early on
Slot’s plan wasn’t winning anything for 30 minutes
He needs to stick with the program and stop playing like we used to for a couple of faves then try reverting to the no tempo overpassing that has never worked yet
What part of how Slot clearly intended to play not working in a single game yet aren’t you getting? 😂🤣😂"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I've never been a man for tactics or formations. It's all about moments. Some for and some against. Thankfully we had more go for us than against.
Ekit and Wirtz will get the plaudits but big Ali had his part to play too.
As the other Ally would say MacAllister.
Deary deary me.

Oops Kevs handler’s been let out again.
“Bed wetting” straight outta the Shill - superfan playbook - yet more blatant attempts to shame the community into silence.
The facts are - Slots tactics were pathetic - weak as ever and put is on the back foot from the off. Had the shill been watching he/she/it would have noticed that were were outplayed and out fought at home by a side that had been in Paris up against PSG ion wednesday night. And only fortune saved us from being 2 goals down.
A moment of genius from Wirtz &Hugo and a moment of individual brilliance from Hugo flipping the game - literally on its head - and from then on the players - did as I suggested / they largely ignored the initial setup and went on to win a game - comfortably …in the end.
To come on a day after the fact and try the usual bollox is laughable.

We know. There aren't many fans who have been following football for 20 years and couldn't figure out that Wirtz was a baller. You are definitely one of the few. Who else broke the mould I wonderOriginally posted by Nineteenx View PostThere’s no-one can handle me when I was born I broke the mould
