Yeah last season the players frequently fell into the shape and way of playing they were used to in games in periods and the longer he’s here the more that’s getting knocked out of them which isn’t a good thing

Maybe the difference between scoring a late winner and conceding one

The 4222 was a Jurgen trick we often played it v the filthy as Shaw owned prime Mo at times

It’s that position between CB & FB where neither are sure about or comfortable picking you up, lets you be released through the channel or down the line with an inside out run keeps 4 players back picking up no-one and leaves space for runners to arrive

Difference is we had the best 2 attacking full backs going them, Trent could release Mo or find the other forward

Not sure about this one, as City have played of late releasing a player wide right with 2 runners LFWD & 9 looking to cone onto a ball playing in behind their back line with runs through the channels looks the way to undo them

Newcastle should have scored 5 or 6 on Wednesday

Early ball in from wide just before the box or edge of the box

Standard Howe tactic, set the press to win it deep and transition to centre to right or straight right

I'm saying we haven't changed an awful lot this season. Up until we scored v Newcastle and for most of the first half of the game v Qarabag it was pretty much the same as the rest of the season.

The only games where we've genuinely changed the way we play were against City (a), Inter (a) and Arsenal (a) where he did what we did what he did to great effect against City last season, which was playing with two atacking midfielders rather than an out and out forward.

We'll play that way again on Sunday.

But after that we'll go back to playing what we have played all season - 4231 and we'll try to keep possesion and push everyone forward.

It will be the hill he dies on.
I again agree to differ we’ve reverted to a much shorter possession game frequently not playing the right ball when it’s on as a result

We still had strong automation last season and the players pressed and counter pressed and picked up, we didn’t have that frequent imbalance of too many players ahead of the ball looking to be in space not enough picking up

Kev, you're assuming that we'll do enough to qualify for next season's EL. It's not a given that we'll be playing in a European competition at all next season.

think we'll finish 6th at least, worst case narrowly missing out on 5th

Can't believe utd are ahead of us, after last season, it's madness.

But the owners obviously think we can achive top 5 with what we have, or not care.

Eitherway what a horrible season for many reasons, but let's be honest here mate, and to everyone else, how long have we had it rather good and laughed at the likes of utd? it was never going to be forever, let's not forget we've won the league twice in recent years--- people waited 30 years..... some passed for us to win it again, that we need to respect.

Lets be happy for what we had we've had some good years- a while ago, i am only 33, but I thought i'd never even see us win the league the way it was going.

Some people waited so long and didn't get a chance.

Once again fuck this season, and let's not forget the recent times as depressing as these months are, football wise and outside espeically if you're in the uk none stop rain

            YNWA

as i've said many times ,more to life than football...... what happened with Jota, completely out of the blue it's effected a lot of people at the club...... fuck it..... it's only a game don't let it effect your heads lads! <3

I've been joking all day because I have this weekend off that i'm a utd fan now to my utd work mates...and i booked it off to watch the game (I'm really not but i give up giving a shit atm ) but you know what i've met some really good man utd fans that are wise- and actually gave us credit last season, i always told them you'll be back, they're not all cunts, the people that follow football and have a brain you can have a good chat too, even if they're utd fans... my mate is a everton fan and he's really wise- yeah we have a joke about stuff.... but obviously we don't hate each other, it's all a game.

UTD fans i've met have actually been rather sound, said we're both the biggest clubs in england etc, yeah a lot of the fans are cunts, so are liverpool fans but when you meet people with there head screwed on and mutual respect about both clubs, it's brilliant. the usual chav fooball fan "ah fuck off you red scouser shite" or fuck you manc shite........ but there is respect out there, i'm happy i know fans from other clubs we can actually talk properly about football and have good chats, no insults nothing.

They all say we miss trent too, and i agree i slagged our own fans off a bit in that regards... guy that's been with us 6 years old and even some of yous on here was happy for him to go........ look at us now...... how many we concede

it's cus trent couldn't defend init.......

We'lll get europa at least, and if we do we'll win it because we're too good for it.

You best hope so because the teams even in the champions league the away days....... make europa not so bad.....

God knows if we even end up in the conference league, we going to play in afghanistan iraq? iran? China? North Korea? Or wales with stevo staring for the other team? - I know i'm being extreme but you get my drift seeing some teams in the champions league.

On a serious note, not surprised clubs wanted the super league.......

Think about it - non english point of view.... 5 of the top 8 ....... through......... so many shit teams even in the champions league.... just think about it, neutral view.

I doubt the champions league will last 10-20 years longer, and that's being generous

Things need to change, but I don't agree with the super league, but it never will more games = more money.... even against the shitters, I think champions league should be limited, 4 groups = 2 qualify from each, top leagues but then they can't sell as many tickets games etc

but quality > amount of games.

Champions league is not "epic" anymore, that's for sure not like it was in 2005, it's a dying competition, dominated by english and Bayern Barca real PSG . & Italy can't keep up.- outside of that, who is there?

Does anyone really think the champions league is like it was from 2010-2020 ?

Think a italian team last won it in 2010? can't keep up with everyone else.

Would a smaller league, a more compeittive champions league not benefit everyone more ?

Yeah I hate thought of the super league but honestly, does anyone blame the other clubs that supported it? (Foreign ones) I'm not saying this should happen but like it or not, it'll change soon imo.

Problem is, I can see where we might drop points, I don’t really see where Chelsea and the filthy are we only go fifth if we win our game in hand v City

Slots made a right bollocks of it he really has that group of players ships be used in a way they’re expected to win every game

We lost 3-0 at home to Forest ffs

19x, please take my advice, don't stress or let football effect your mental health too bad, I know we have stupid beef on here but that's all it is, I feel like it effects you more because i'm pretty sure you said personal stuff on here more, just take a breath, remember FSG don't care about you, just calm down sometimes.

It took us years and years to get back to the top of the game, as it has with Arsenal. There is no guarantee that a similar thing won't happen again. Once the rot sets in you are liable to be in a world of trouble.

Here doesn’t affect me in the slightest I have considerable real issues to concern me the football is a welcome distraction

I’m not depressed I am furious with the shitshow Edwards Hughes and Slot made out of a title winning team system and style of play

You don’t get to call it a transition season after winning the league and being backed with 420m to improve on that team and way of playing

You get the sack we’d be up near challenging had he gone in October after done absolutely scandalous results
