I'd love us to sign Olise but I reckon it will be more likely someone like Bowen for the right side.
Can't see us having 5 CBs. I dont think there will be another coming in unless a replacement for Joemez. As you say, I think Jacquet is likely Konate's replacement.

I honestly don't know anything about him, I dont watch a lot of Stade Rennais... For all we know he could be the next Marcel Desailly.

Bowen would be a decent addition. He's a willing runner and knows where the goal is but i'm not sure he's THAT much better than Chiesa, never mind Mo.

    • We aren't getting to to Europe next season after tonight's fucking shite debacle, so we're shopping in the bargain basement for players.

Take your pick from second string French, Belgian and Dutch clubs and hunker down for next season.

We genuinely have as much chance as Chelsea do to be fair.

Yep. I’m afraid that we are just about at his level now.

Which one..? The sitter missing but chaos creating hard grafting workaholic Nunez of Klopp’s time - or the shot shy pointless version he would be deployed inside this insipid, uninspiring turgid detritus of a setup we have today?

Yep. Just watched the YNWA reds YouTube vid review of last night and he makes a very good point that only Szobo has improved this season, every other player has regressed. Anyone trying to say it's all on the players is blind, yes they have a responsibility but for all of them to collectively drop their form like a brick isn't coincidence.
He has vacuumed the fight and life out of that team with his no risk brand and it's utterly shite to watch. It wasn't that long ago we were one of if not the most exciting team to watch in world football. We were light years ahead of Utd and now we are trailing them and they're playing better football and playing with real confidence. Talk about a turnaround.

I don't see how anyone has any case for him staying now, wait till the end of the season? Not for me. An interim could get a tune out of this group and we have a chance of top four.
If he stays there's a very very high likelihood we miss out on CL football and for a manger that's had 400m or so to assemble the team he wants that is 100% unacceptable.
The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

                      • Throughout the season we have seen a number of requests from fans - wide players, defensive mid, centre-backs, another full-back, etc

At this stage if someone said we were going to blow our entire upcoming budget on getting an excellent wide player for each side I'd nearly take that. I'd obviously prefer funds to be spread around a bit in an ideal World, but the two pacey wingers with the capacity to score goals would make would be wild.

                        • When it comes to our defensive failties we need reliable, hard working, and tactically and spacially aware players. We need a top quality DM and a top quality CB. Virgil isn't at his best and won't be around for too much longer. Konate is unreliable and error prone, as is the case with Gomez, whilst Leoni is coming back from a serious injury and has only played a few minutes for us so he's still a bit of an unknown quantity, as is Jacquet.

Our midfield is seriously lacking when it comes to almost all attributes that should be on display when playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. There's no grit, energy, cohesion, spatial awarenes, control, or much creativity. Szoboszlai has been one of our best players this season, if not the best, but despite some trying to make the comparison, Szoboszlai is not Gerrard. He can't do everything on his own. He needs help, something he's not getting a lot of from the likes of Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Jones.

As for our forward line, just like Szoboszlai Ekitike has been one of our best players this season, if not the actual best, and again just like the Hungarian and our midfield, Ekitike can't carry our attack on his own. Both Gakpo and Salah have been woeful, whilst Isak was taking time to settle. Him coming back from a serious injury certainly isn't going to help him in that regards, even more so if everyone is looking to him to spearhead our attack because only Ekitike looks like he could shoulder some of that burden. Hopefully Wirtz continues to improve, but there are still question marks over how to get the best out of him without unbalancing other players and positions.

Given how those in charge of transfers and the purse strings have repeatedly failed to address problem areas such as the DM and CB positions r.e. Guehi, does anybody really think they'll do what's necessary to seriously try and get in the exact type of players we need? I certainly don't. Even if we do spend a lot in the summer, I would still expect us to go into next season with one or two areas looking a bit devoid of quality and numbers.

Everyone will have their own opinions as to what areas need the most attention and what type of players we need. For me we need to tighten up at the back and just in front of our defence. It's no good having a potent attack if your defence can be repeatedly breached by anybody who has the tiniest bit of attacking threat.

Sorry for the long post. I'm just still seriously pissed off with last night's result, Slot, some of our players, some of those behind the scenes, and how our season is panning out thus far.

If the club listened to what fans wanted we'd be in League Two. Somewhere near the bottom.

That would be a major benefit. Yes indeed. I'd still be supporting while you lot fucked off. The dream scenario.
