I was thinking about this after watching the 2nd half of the City game. Anderson's game has come on since the U21s in the summer.

But Wharton is a better 'footballer'.

Anderson has more energy / drive but he's typically 'English'

Think I'd still go for Wharton.

I said at the end of last season that we should have just given Palace £150m for Wharton, Guehi and Eze.

Yeah Wharton is the better footballer but there is his injury record He just plays some brilliant passes though

It would make sense to give robertson a one year contract and hopefuly konate to sign new contract.
Then buy a DM and replacements for salah & gapko.selling salah,gapko,chiesa,gomez and one from mac or jones.bring back harvey elliot and would be a perfect window.

We've needed to buy some quality defensive players for years, but the incompetent twats behind the scenes have failed to get in such players and now we are paying the price for that negligence.

We have enough issues as it is and things look as though they could get worse. It's likely that those issues would need at least two or three transfer windows to rectify, but that would still be dependent on those behind the scenes doing a good job for a change.

We just needed quality in depth in defence our defensive issues are the result of Slot’s meddling breaking down our picking up press and counter press

Konate went to Virgil last game as he could see he was going to have an issue, at the time he did their player was in their half and Szobo’s man, who let him run off him - not picking up and taking responsibility for their man and not have a top press and counter press are our greatest issues for me

I've not seen him play myself, but I did recently point out to someone who was lauding some of our recruitment that there are no guarantees that the likes of Jacquet will hit the ground running and ultimately be a success, or that Leoni will fully recover from his injury and also go on to be a success for us.

Only one failed took the wrong move wrong manager wrong system I Germany he thrived in 433 making runs in behind with the ball being played when it was on at Chelsea they always took the extra pass and he ended up offside I still think it could have been different for him in our set up as we played

I wanted Grav a season before he went to Bayern and still persisted with that even though he was deemed to have flopped at Bayern

Macca played better for De Zerbi still a great signing though

Still only 25 so within our typical "buy under 26" mould and despite being a centre-back more often than not, played right-back at youth level, so understands both roles.

Potentially acquiring a Gomez replacement (utility) that is younger and less prone to injury doesn't seem the worst idea on paper.
