this is what is wrong with modern day football 87 million for an 19 year old
RB Leipzig have put an £87m price tag on Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, 19 who is a target for Liverpool and Manchester United. (Sky Sports)
Maybe we go with Hugo, rio, isak, frimpong, gakpo and Danns as our forward bank of players. With chiesa still there???? I won't be expecting a big money forward incoming with no salah fee. The Greek coming back and bradley/Leoni fit again will feel like 3 new defensive signings along with the other French kid already bought.
Job done,thank u Mr Edwards

Bear amortisation in mind though sydenham - if we're buying a £100m player and paying for them in five £20m instalments for example over a 5-year spell etc etc - Salah's wages alone (which are coming off the bill) are nearly £21m-per-season so we should be capable of buying a wide forward.
If for some reason we aren't, then a 4-4-2 Diamond somewhat solves a depth issue with forwards because you need a 10 and their back-up (Wirtz and a returning Harvey?) plus two forwards and their back-ups, rather than the six forwards needed for a 4-3-3.
Main thing is to qualify for Champion's League football to assist with our appeal to talent (and our ability to afford their fees and wages) but we shouldn't be too worried about not buying a forward to replace Mo, unless we're replacing his contribution in some sort of aggregated fashion - which could be.....difficult.

Chiesa may as well leave hes never going to play more than 10 minutes in a Premier league game. I think we'll sign a Salah replacement and another midfielder. If Konate stays we will probably be ok with the numbers at the back., With Jacquet coming in as well
we have enough forward players if we sign a Salah replacement. Wirzt needs to be in the false 9 role..and pack the midfield in some games. hes neither a left sided or in a 3 in midfield.
Alisson rumours to be out til near the end of the season.
Really missing Kelleher right now
That's unfortunate - hopefully the old adage of the strongest metals being forged in the hottest fires can come to pass and we see Mamardashvili step up into those undeniably massive boots to fill.

Looks like he’s a very good shot stopper but doesn’t look the complete package and very ordinary with the ball at his feet. I just hope our lads deal with situations themselves and don’t give him the ball under pressure

Knowing our lads and seeing how they are currently playing, expect them to do exactly what you hope they don't.
Rumour that konate a lot closer to agreeing new contract with liverpool
Hes been hit and miss but will save us money if he signs
If it's a choice between letting him go, or him signing a new contract on more money, I'd go with the former. He's too much of a liability far too often.

If he ends up getting his increased wage. Then we are rewarding him for being absolute shit. Anyway the reason hes staying cause he knows Madrid or Psg will not touch him..
If we give Konate a new contract instead of doing what we should have done seasons ago i.e. get in a couple of quality CB's, I will already be concerned about what's going to happen to us next season.

Konaté as one of our four centre-backs is fine for me.
What I wouldn't want is him starting all 38 games in the League or feeling he has no competition for his place.
This season, with the injury to Leoni, Gomez being a player we have to manage and Slot having no time for Endo, we have seen Konaté play a LOT of games.
Hopefully with having Jacquet here next season and Leoni hopefully being given a chance to "start again" (rather than being sold to an Italian club or something) we might see things be a bit more competitive in terms of places etc
