    Indeed.

    Van Dijk
    Konaté
    Jacqeut
    Leoni
    Gomez
    Ndiaye
    Adekoye

It'll be interesting to see how many of them we use and which depart.

Also, lest we forget, if we hold onto Leoni long enough and he is a success, he will count as Home-grown eventually.

Jaquet hasn't even kicked a ball for us, whilst Leoni had only played a few minutes for us before sustaining a serious injury. I really wouldn't assume that those two players will get any substantial playing time or hit the ground running, at least to a level where we can afford to give Van Dijk a lighter workload.

      • Rumours heating up over alisson joining juventus in the summer.
If Mamardashvili isnt given the shirt he will be off as well.

It's a tough one for a number of players because of the way Slot has set us up this season. Mac looked phenomenal for 2/3rds of last season, as did Grav. Gakpo was useful throughout most of last season, but he like every single other player (other than Szobo) struggling like the rest.
Yep - I like him too, seems like a really nice lad... and he has had some good moments, but he isn't at the level. He never was in truth. Last season he was useful - but it was his best yet...but many of the 10 goals he scored were late runs at the end of a collective move - running onto a ball you'd expect most players in a wide berth to score. He was actually used to keep Diaz fresh. 6 of 10 goals were tap ins.. The season before that - Klopp's last - he was often a lonely bench warmer.

          We got problems a plenty.

I mean IF they do - happy days… as we will be doing well but £315,000 a week for a player who, in his prime….struggles to perform even in his natural position… seems hugely idiotic,
I had no idea what Gakpos salary is. That's a ridiculous amount for just a decent squad player

With hindsight it would have been great to keep Diaz maybe on a 3 year contract. He's still only 29 till January so we'd have got this season and two more before he's 32. Then sell him on. Give Salah a 1 year and see how it goes. Hard to have foreseen Salah's drop-off though.

Yeah. He's a squad player really. He's done a good job as a squad player and has a good habit of popping up with goals but relying on him week in/week out has really limited us and probably hurt his confidence too.

For me not the right fit and i would cash in on him.

Really? I think he's been decent. The injury situation is the real problem with him. We have so many injury-prone players right now. I doubt we'd sell him after one season anyway. I think all the new signings will get at least another season to see what they're about. Trouble is we don't have much to cash in on.

One great thing we had previously was a core of players that didn't miss many games: Wij, Hendo, Salah, Mane, Robbo, VVD, Trent. Most of these guys missed very few games for us IIRC. Yes we did have injuries in other areas but these guys were fit most of the time which helps a lot.

                    • Our wide players have been terrible this season. Salahs worst in 9 seasons, And Gakpo has been dross. That doesn't help your full backs at all.

I have good hope for Frimpong and Kerkez. Both need to improve defensively wise, well the latter more. He gets caught around the back too often and its caused us goals on that side.. Same with Robertson,we must have conceded at least 10 goals from the left of our defence.

Maybe im being sizeist but always looks up against it in physical battles and frustrating how many times he pulls the ball back to empty space.

                        • I wouldn't quick to throw the baby out with the dishwater. I want to see Frimpong have a run of games. I think Kerkez has improved. It would be nice if someone would pass to him from time to time when he overlaps...

Poor at RB. Okay at RF. Either way he's not a first team starter.

Totally agree. But if theres no-one much better than him here in August then he'll play a lot. Much like Jones, they shouldnt be starters in a Liverpool team that should frighten the opposition. I personally don't think Szobo has been brilliant except for a few games, he has just stood out from the mediocrity all around him.

I do think Szobo has had a good season on the whole but like you say it hasn't been hard to stand out amongst the rest. He's also played the big I am to the crowd a few times and acted the flash twat on socials, it's went down like shit storm amongst some of the fans. He needs to cut it out.
He's a very good grafter and has improved though for sure. It's just a real shame that out of the title winners he's the only one who has really.
