Of the 9 English clubs in European competitions this season, all 9 of them are still in their relevant comps.
So unless something seriously drastic happens, it will indeed be a "top five" and not "top four" for Europe this season.
With the Premier League continually bringing in more revenue, this trend could well be set to occur on a regular basis.
It's good news for us, but also, annoyingly, good news for their lot as well.
If the schedule remains as is, then that Old Trafford fixture will be the 35th(?) League match of the season I believe - and you'd back them to win the 3 that follow.
I'm pessimistic about the chances of the perfect scenario playing out, but if they could drop off a little at some point it would be great - so keen for us to be in Europe's top competition next season and so keen for them to simultaneously miss out.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? They’d have dropped off today if not given yet another free hander
Kavanagh’s at the wheel, well he was today he effected the game in their favour more than Carrick or their players"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Likely true - 13 points from their last 5 suggests they'll be in the Champion's League next season, which is a pity.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostThey’d have dropped off today if not given yet another free handerYour hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Be more like 7 from 15 without the free hand outs
They’ll keep failing if they keep getting hand outs and can’t learn to win for themselves it’s why Whiskey faces record in Europe was so poor, no free hand outs"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Again, likely true - I don't anticipate them doing "well" in Europe when they get back in. They haven't reached a Champion's League quarter-final for a very long time.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostBe more like 7 from 15 without the free hand outs

But simply participating again will bring money in - much as we like to kick them when they're down (who wouldn't?) we know what can happen with a couple of years of participation in the competition under a strong Manager (they'll have more appeal again) and the opportunity to attract and subsequently purchase better players, as we have experienced it first-hand under Benitez and particularly under Klopp.
They're the one side that can reach number 21 before we do within a few seasons if they were to ever start making the right decisions. I hope they miss out on the Champion's League every single season and if ourselves, Villa and Chelsea were better than we are, we would have been able to shut them out again.
A day must come where 4-5 clubs are in the Champion's League treehouse and pull the ladder up on the Mancs - we were so close to watching them become mid-table regulars and it would only take a couple of seasons for them to become Champion's League regulars again.
They won't flush into the Championship any time soon, but having them regularly finish 8th-12th each season would have been the next best thing and it was getting closer.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

Yeah they haven’t actually won 20 anyway 😂
I don’t care for their figures our are true enough but they were handed quite a few as were City, we’re 2-3 down from Jurgen’s time through corrupt officiating 2 at least
This is the issue with FAPGMOL they take away the meaning and value of things"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Tra lalala lalalala lalalaaaaa Carrick’s at the wheel at the wheel Carrick’s at the wheel
Fucking shithouse cheating twats at it again Manc Kavanagh gave them a pen for a foul outside the box and sent a player off incorrectly the mast game
Tierney, another filthy twat in VAR told the ref to give Ramsay a second yellow for trying to avoid getting clattered another pure bent decision from another ref who was persistently biased against us and took points off us along with Kavanagh in several of Jurgen’s seasons
Clubs need to come together and call this out it’s making a mockery of the league just like Jurgen called it out with Olly"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Cunt blew up 30 seconds before the mandatory added time with Mane clean through on goal in one game is v them
He and Kavanagh were the 2 involved in the non penalty for the bitters that handed City our title in 21-22 and taking at least 6 points off us in other games in 21/22
Seeing thr non penalty for City too another filthy red twat Darren England so here we go, cunts going all out to try and hand thrn something and try and lift them above city
Watch the twats bring the charges and sanctions now you watch"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Whether or not they can beat Villa at Old Trafford is probably a better Barometer of where they're at, as Villa haven't been picking up many points of late and have a depleted midfield.Originally posted by redebreck View PostToon 2 Uniturds 1
Has Carrick's bubble burst?
Of the 4 sides competing for Champion's League spots (Arsenal and Man City are shoe-ins, I mean the rest) you'd argue Man United will feel the worst tonight.
They've watched us lose to the side at the bottom of the League, seen/heard that Aston Villa were losing, been level against a side that were down to 10-men and botched the chance to be 3 ahead of Villa and 6 ahead of ourselves and Chelsea.
That'll sting. A win against Villa would be a great tonic for them but if they fail to do that, the nerves will jangle.
Amazing to think that it won't be long until we're down to the final 5 matches or so. Our trip to Old Trafford is going to be absolutely massive.....Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

The media fail to mention how relatively simple a season it is for them with no Europe and out of both domestic cups early. Carrick has pretty much had an entire week to plan for each game since he took over. Unless their next boss is one who commands the respect of some of their egos from day one, then they will struggle with extra commitments, be it CL,EL and domestic cups next season.

It's funny how these things are perceived by fans as well - I spoke to a Man United fan recently about the prep time they have and he was saying he would rather they had mid-week games to help with momentum and rhythm, versus having week-long gaps between games - whereas I imagine most of us in here would feel that having those spells to prepare is beneficial.Originally posted by Creator Supremes View PostThe media fail to mention how relatively simple a season it is for them with no Europe and out of both domestic cups early.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound?
