Sometimes I watch our games and think "I wish it would rain down" ( goals).

Beside Sunderland was always one of his most underrated tunes.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostKev - we’re doing Phil Collins songs
Beside Sunderland play like that and we played mostly in their half with Konate and Virgil 1v1 and picked up abd blocked the linesThe defining moments in our lives are never planned.

We owe this lot one from the game at Anfield. Surely the players are bang up for it. A week to prepare after the win v Brighton. Chelsea looking shaky - Personally I don’t even trust City to be that consistent - after they scraped past the Toon at the Emptyhad - despite the Toon being thousands of miles away playing a massive game just a few nights before - almost got an equaliser last minute too.
Seems everyone is dropping points this season… We can and must capitalise.

Had a week to work really hard on everything and build again on the win Brighton. Work on how Mo and Gakpo were better with Chiesa as a false 9 and work with Ekitike to incorporate some of that into his game, dropping in at times with the 2 ahead of him
Alisson
Szoboslai Konate Virgil Kerkez
Gravenberch Macca Wirtz
Salah Ekitike Gakpo
Really hard pick, I really want that midfield 3 of Szobo Macca and Grav that bossed the league last season, I know he’ll start Wirtz, I’m not sure he’s actually what we needed to unlock low blocks, we didn’t struggle with it last season
Direct and winning the second balls and releasing both wide forwards early when it’s on always really worked for us, constantly trying to play the ball through the eye of a needle through the centre just hasn’t worked it takes away our tempo, intensity, cut and thrust and creativity
Use the long diagonals from deep, cross field passes and switches, back those balls up with runners from full back and midfield and or Ekitike coming shorter to get knocks downs etc Every time we win a second ball there it’s a new point of attack they aren’t set for
Love to see what Wirtz can do from there, backing up Gakpo or Ekitije getting the second ball and having Mo Ekitike or Gakpo to release, could be dynamite
Get the win NO excuses"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Our midfield isn't currently known for toughing it out, something that isn't helped by having Mac Allister in that midfield and Szobozslai playing at right-back.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostThing is, we’re usually poor after a week’s rest, we seem to fare better playing every 3 days.
Need the midfield to tough it out and help keep the back door closed. Away in the Premier League is never easy

That’s only happening because we signed a playmaker 10 we didn’t need instead of a LFWD to replace Diaz to be fairOriginally posted by RedMagic View PostOur midfield isn't currently known for toughing it out, something that isn't helped by having Mac Allister in that midfield and Szobozslai playing at right-back.
Wirtz is a very good player, but we already had two top class No10’s who we won the league with playing mostly Jurgen’s way
Wirtz being in midfield behind the 3 forwards in a more Coutinho role is starting to work now and Macca was great v Brighton he won possession about 12 times I think"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
