While you stopped short of an open confession you did equate our assumed roles on the forum. We are both critical of differing opinions... This is the entire purpose of a forum tho and not worthy of mention.. BUT for some unknown reason you will not EVER critique the owners or the setup and instead go in like CHopper Harris on players or fans who dare speak out.

Will you every criticise the owners? Or like your location - is that off limits...and if so - why?
Interesting that you'd reference a Chelsea legend. But not surprising.

Why would I criticise the owners when I'm happy with how they are running things?

Surely there is something they have done you arent happy with?

Their attempted price hike to £77 and over £1k for a ST - quashed by fan revolt?
Their attempted trademarking of the very name of the city itself ...."Liverpool" in 2019...?
Their attempted Furlough of the staff - in 2020..?
      Their "Sell-to-Buy" Transfer model..? Coutinho
Their low net spend between 6th and 8th in the league depending on sources...?
Their Project Big Picture in 2020..?
Their reward for number 6... Bills to pay... and the summer of 2019..After winning number 6 and finishing with 97 points, signing only Sepp van den Berg, Harvey Elliott (as a teenager), and Adrian (free)..?

Their absence in 2020/21 - selling a senior CB and not replacing...then compounded during the defensive crisis - our last title defence (something they know how to FU) Entering the season with 1.5 senior CB When Van Dijk went down we only had sick notes Gomez and Matip - both suffering the expected season-ending injuries... Then waiting until the very end of the January to sign Ben Davies (who never played) and Ozan Kabak on loan.?

NOt a word on any of this..? Nope... but steam roller into Salah and anyone who speaks their mind..

no agenda.. no incentive.. Yea.. ok

Sure there are things that I don't agree with. The ticket price hike and the Furlough scheme were poor errors of judgement. But those happened before I got here and we haven't been discussing them.

I don't have an issue with how they are running the club in terms of spending. They have expanded Anfield, built a new training facility and gave us unbelievable times with Klopp and a world class team. Now we're in a new phase with Slot and they spent £400m on players in the summer.

It's about having a balanced view. I think they're doing a good job overall and don't feel the need to spend my time criticising them.

I notice your complete failure to engage in the other thread about alternative owners. I doubt you have anything more to offer on the subject. I think we're done here.

            Better...

BUT...The stadium expansions were effectively funded by a 'tax' on Klopp’s transfer budget. Instead of providing the genuine investment seen at rival clubs, F$G utilised the club’s own operating cashh...money generated by the team's success and out of the fans' pocket to pay for the infrastructure of their own asset. Then by deploying a gorilla like repayment schedule..they grasped a great opportunity...every million rushed back into their accounts was a million not spent on the pitch. As if they needed the money? I can tell you - Klopp did!!

Despite early PR bollox on interest-free loans, we got a web of commercial-rate loans that forced the club to pay down the debt at record speed while the owners sat back and watched their franchise skyrocket $$$. The media remained largely silent on this, as FSG performed a masterclass in 'business', in truth...it was a transfer of wealth. If we are honest they effectively used the club's peak competitive years - Klopp ability to keep us competitive - to subsidise their own diverse business interests.

They need to be made aware that the fans are watching them. NOt all are starstruck by their wonderfulness.

            Applause..

On other owners - I won't be choosing from a group of largely similar profit seeking owners and consortiums mostly from across the pond and or in cahoots with strategic ally - Arab state players.. I have rarely if ever specified that I want new owners. What I want is the current owners to back the club to win more than they back it to feather their bank accounts. If not - then sell up to those who genuinely want to make and keep LFC a "Bastion of Invincibility" ...and go.. It's the staple for any genuine fan.

In that case you should select FSG from the options in the poll

We can both agree that they saw a business opportunity and took it. I have no issue with them using the club's money to expand the stadium. That's how most rational businesses work. I'd rather that than be in a mountain of debt.

We are a self-sustaining club. That means that sometimes we will have more money to spend on players and sometimes we'll have other priorities like the ground, training facilities, etc. I'm okay with that. In fact, it's just a good way to run the club. If FSG leave tomorrow then we'll continue as we are today. If the Saudis leave City they could go back to being peasants very quickly. I know which option I'm taking if given the choice.

There's a thread for this, champions league stages is not the one.

Even if 19x made this thread

This thread is much bigger than just the champions league and whatever Steveo and I are rambling about.

We're trying to decipher 19's morality in the context of being a Christain.

Good chance for sure - we usually do tbf.. Nobody wants to face us over 2 legs. We’ve beaten the lot down the years.

I do feel we need much more potency up top tho - Hugo is largely the only threat… and defensively we are wide open. Brighton are on a port run but could and should have taken the lead and equalised. Plenty of the sides we will face will be more equipped to hit the barn door.

I liked the way we played v away at Arsenal and Inter.

Just spat my tea out, thank you

And the owners- I do agree with you stevo mainly about the investment in squad over the years, not asking to match man city etc but a bit wouldn't have gone a miss when we needed it, we could've won so much more, and those gems we did sign and Klopp that carried FSG don't come around every day, we got rather lucky with certain transfers, and cost.

that will not work long-term, hopefully last summer was a start, and this summer we'll improve where we need to and money will be spent.

Don't really care it's offtopic now that ship sailed ages ago

We need to replace Diaz, but, just putting this out there, our wide forwards were more potent played furthest forward v Brighton with Chiesa playing deeper even though he was largely ineffectual
