Really want to see this game in more than the statutory 10 mins of motd highlights. From the stats it looks like the first half we were overrun and the second half we were much better. How much did losing Wirtz in the warm up affect us in the first half so you think?

A fair amount we’d had a week to work to a plan he was obviously part of and he links a lot albeit with a lot of needless short passes not creating but helping make the play

And we were trying the everything short route without him

Not Wirtz’s fault, but this is why I was fuming about all the points we dropped trying to install him as a designated playmaker as the first half was the effect it can have when they’re not available or man marked for me you’re far stronger when THE TEAM collectively make the play

Wirtz being quite unique in his style of play makes it even Wirtz 😂 I always thought he should just fit into how we already played and provide moments rather than write off a season changing everything for him
