Nothing wrong with giving credit (grudgingly) where it's due. Ferguson built that side up through home grown players and some savvy buys. A world away from any of the top clubs today.

Think that's the case for all players to be honest. I think if you dropped any player from 30+ years ago they would struggle in todays game (except for Maradona!). Though, if they'd had the same sort of diet / training / exposure to the speed of the game they'd still be right at the top of the game.

I think you can throw a blanket over Schmiechel and Ali.
