  • New deal for Grav

Just announced that Ryan Gravenberch has extended his stay at LFC.

    Get in

I'm delighted, think he's taken some pelters this year unfairly, undoubtedly a talented player and top performer.

Longer term, I'd split the captaincy between himself and Sobolza. And given Sobozlas haircut, I'd edge towards Grav

That’s brilliant news not for Konate Szobo and Macca

Good news. I'm not sure he's been a top performer this season. He's had his moments. I reckon if we get someone better than Macca beside him Grav will flourish.

The midfield has struggled because Slots changes broke down a lot of the automation and on pitch relationships and positioning off one another through high quality pressing and counter pressing

Obviously a midfield 3 is better for pressing and a lot harder to play through or around the sides of, when one of the mids was forward the full back used to come alongside the two mids to make a 3

Or two mids would be ahead of the 6 and both full backs forward often alongside the 2

The 433 readily changes to become numerous other formations in where the 4231 doesn’t as easily or to as many so seamlessly
