  • Yan Diomande

Don’t kick off now, just think this lad’s a special talent deserving or our attention and a thread of his own.

For me he is exactly what we need, we needed him in January so need him even more now

The competition is really hotting up though, the filthy are now also pursuing him and regularly scouting him and putting him high in their list also.

We shoukd be really stepping up our efforts and making him our top target regularly sending scouts and representatives to secure his attentions and early summer signing

I think he needs to be top of our list he can play left right or centre, played almost a false 9 role very well at AFCON

Very 2 footed scores great goals with both and with his age build and physique at present it’s clear he is going to become an incredible physical specimen and athlete too

442 and other sources report he wants to play for Liverpool and we must do everything to land him including putting him off the filthy

They have become a graveyard for many of the best emerging talents wide forwards especially over the last decade and although they may make Champions League for next season it will be a flash in the pan. They also have a squad that has collapsed and wilted numerous times when faced with a poor run seeing manager after manager leave Zaha Depay and Di Maria are all players whose careers were blighted by moving there.

We must also stress the absolute quality of our squad and that he will be revered and embraced by our fans as AFCON legends Salah, and Mane were and that should the very worst happen and we were to miss out on Champions league qualification it would be a mere blip

The lad is a very diverse generational talent, and the options he will provide being able to play left right and false 9 wiill make for great fluidity in our attack and value for money

Pay the release clause and wages necessary and sign him up for 6 seasons with an option of another year from our side

Here’s a link I can’t embed in my phone I would be grateful if one of you could

As I touched on in the Summer transfer thread, if we did decide to go very youthful for age profile, it'd be cool to get Désiré Doué as well as Diomande if we tried to work towards future-proofing the attack in one window, but I don't foresee us buying a regular starter for BOTH sides in one window unless we -

    - Have some sales
    - Reach the quarters of the Champion's League
    - Qualify for next season's Champion's League

I think it's too late. We blew our load last Sumner on two players who, so far, have added nothing.

FSG are going to have to spend, to protect their investment we’ll likely get 40-50m for Mo even now just on his name

Elliott will likely go for 35m somewhere Mo going takes a whack out of the wages

Sadly and guttingly I think that unless there’s going to be a change of manager Robbo will leave and Tsimi will come back from loan

We absolutely need this lad and we will absolutely need another LFWD or RFWD

We've said that many times during their tenure. They don't spend their own money.

It won’t be their own money they will spend this summer and it will likely. E the following summer that’s dry in my opinion

Factor wages and amortisation in my friend.

If we sell someone like Salah (£400k-per-week) it.opens doors.

Robbo, Ali, Chiesa, Endo won't be on the books forever, for different reasons.

Mac Allister has resale value if we decide to cut ties, Gakpo too.

I'd say there's a lot we could do in the next 3-5 windows (Sum-Jan-Sum-Jan-Sum) provided we maintain our position in the Champion's League and given that playing with Salah and Gakpo can feel like playing with 9 men and we still have every chance, you'd think remaining stable in the Champion's League spots should be achievable enough.

I would be surprised. Hope you're right, because it also means competing on wages.

Maybe Gakpo don’t see Macca going just need to play to his and the other players strengths and getting those two top quality wide players in does that

They’re going to have to spend and push really hard and pull out all the stops for Diomande and other players we need even moreso if we don’t qualify for Champions League to make sure we’re back in it the next season and continually

Diomande is a no brainer we really need this player it’s the statement signing to replace Mo & Diaz leaving and landing Douè too would be sensational both on 6 year deals with an option for an extra year on our side

The club fucked up with Klopp his was the successful model they should have insisted on it as the club model with Jurgen and I 😂 laying out the blueprint that all managers have to work to

It works fir Brighton we could be the top end of it working it has worked for us for a decade

                    Then can still do that

Macca turns 28 in December. He's hardly "past it" or anything, but he will have two years left on his deal (correct me if I'm wrong please) once Summer hits and I doubt we will want to hand out a massive contract to him, or let him go on a free.

We need more Home-grown lads and we like to keep the average age down.

I can absolutely foresee us doing something like Wharton or Anderson in, Macca out, while he still has value.

I'm not in the "I'd drive him to the Airport myself" camp or anything daft, but I could see us trying the above.

We will have a finite budget without sales, so one or two of the "right" sales to address key issues could be incredibly useful, provided we make sensible acquisitions.

They get written off early these days 28 is no age

It’s a shame Slot has written the defence off with his changes and played so many out of form that’s a year of their careers he’s wasted

I agree 28 is no age - not personally saying we SHOULD sell Macca or anything, just see how he might be viewed as a way to generate cash if we want to buy 4-6 players when we maybe only have a budget (before sales) for 1-3 given our general desire for modest net spend and for buying players of a future-proofing sort of age profile.
