Ive never felt such a lack of confidence in a team i supported for 40yrs. Yes I am that old. I see a talented squad of plaits too lateyers looking lost & i see a manager/coach who has a plan B. His plan B is substitute defenders with strikers & hope for the best. I see a tactically inept manager who can't fit superstars into his brainless system. I see a complete failure to see what is not working. More important...I see the most dull tedious predictable football every week with no hope it will change. Please please sack slot before its too late. Its only going to get worse & we can all see it.

really? in 40 years?? you forget what the 90s and most of the 2000s were like?. We have been shit this season.. most teams do have shit seasons. we are allowed to be bad you know? if we carry on, the hierarchy will do something about it and Sack Slot. Anyway it's only a game of football. And we have won trophies over the past few years.. 95% of clubs in professional football in England would be happy to be in our position.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

different time anyway, the standard of teams all around have improved . plenty of boring football now. with low blocks and double banking .But it gets results. Most teams now can defend behind the ball for 90+ minutes and have enough quality to cause issues on the counterCleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

The OP was about the depressing football under slot. Certainly wasn't that way while Kenny, roy and rafa were in charge. Despite ups and downs of course. And Gérard won the treble. I would concede that with souness and Gérard the football itself WAS depressing but that doesn't constitute ALL of the 90s and 00s.Originally posted by justme View Postwe won hardly anything??From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. I think winning fuck all for many years is depressing. I don't care how we play. if its defensive and gets us wins. so be it.. Being too attacking doesn't always work either. There are 2 teams out on the pitch and they are allowed to stop us from winning.. People seem to think do this, and we'll win. Like you said we played great football but achieved nothing.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

Watching us under Hodgson took a considerable effort of will to be fair.Originally posted by Red October View PostThe OP was about the depressing football under slot. Certainly wasn't that way while Kenny, roy and rafa were in charge.

Oh don't get me wrong - I get that Hodgson inherited a much poorer squad - but from a sheer entertainment/moments of joy perspective I cannot remember a time I hated more.Originally posted by miller0863 View PostBut we were already poor when he took over, with little money to bring in top level players and a bang average squad.
Just an abhorrent, insipid watch.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

Speaking of managers who depress you, Old lego head must do that to his team fans, Arsenal have spent probably 3 times has much as us over the last 2/3 seasons , and they've been under constant pressure in this game. cause they are unable to pass a ball to each other and play defensive..they may well win the league. But they are shit to watchCleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

To be fair Sid there's been a lot of abhorrent insipid football thus season in the league from us. Yesterday was up there with them.Originally posted by Insidious View PostOh don't get me wrong - I get that Hodgson inherited a much poorer squad - but from a sheer entertainment/moments of joy perspective I cannot remember a time I hated more.
