I like your thinking. If the midfield area of the pitch is flooded the game might get called off. That's one way of preventing us getting hammered on Wednesday.

I would wager we do far better than last time in Paris - maybe not the result but the play. How we escaped without a massive beating - nobody can say I know Alisson had the game of his life but still - with any kind of shooting boots they are hitting us for 6…

They looked superb after beating us and simply walked the CL… Haven’t been nearly as good this season.

Who knows what happens. We still have some players who IF they can be bothered can turn up and do some damage.

Yes some of our players can do damage. The unfortunate thing is that it's mostly us that they are damaging.

I can only see a similar pattern to Saturday’s game. Solid start until we concede then a unilateral downing of tools.

After Virgils confession and the alleged "emergency meeting" I'm expecting us to wallop them 4-0 and pretty much book our place in the semis.
The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Is that like the 4th or 5th emergency meeting they've had this season?

More inept management from slot,a team with low confidence after a battering against city, away to a top european side and he chances to a formation we hadnt had time to work on,forcing players into positions there not used to and tops it off with "survival mode"as to why he didnt bring salah on.
Please get shut of him now.

You mean the low block he has been lamenting all comers have deployed against us? A back FIVE no less.

It was an absolute mess. They neither sat off and fully low-blocked or pushed and pressed. They just did 'stuff' from time to time, sometimes a couple would press and leave massive gaps, or they'd sit in a block, but not fill gaps properly.

It was terribly coached and played out.

I think the players are just as exasperated with it all as we are. You could see VVD trying to figure it all out after 5 minutes. Both he and Mac were constantly trying communicate stuff as they were playing.

As i've said on another thread, everyone is being brought down to the Slot level. Both Wirtz's and Konate's upturn in form has completely evaporated. Grav has been getting worse week by week. Even the two brightest players of the season in Ekitike and Soboszlai have dropped off massively.

You're right. It's a total mess of a side now, the whole vibe around everything to do with the club is downbeat. Fans are fed up. The players are phoning performances in and lots of things are being highlighted and in a negative way like Szoboslai playing the big I am and Slots total shithousery around certain players just two examples of many.
Slot just seems like he's waiting to be given the boot, looks like he's just fed up of it all.
I think we are all just seeing the season out. I just can't wait for it to be over.

My brother wondered if Slot would walk before he was pushed. He only has a year left on his contract.

No manager is going to walk when doing so would mean they would also be walking away from a lot of money.

I remember Gordon Strachan walking away from Boro and not taking any compensation. Think it was £2m-£3m he turned down.

The exception that proves the rule, that's of course assuming that there wasn't more going on with his departure than was reported. He supposedly gave up £1.5m. Slot would be giving up £6.6m. He's not going to walk.

We've certainly had some team meetings and clear the air discussions and having to look at ourselves in the mirror.

Perhaps one of the senior players could come out and call for a reaction from the players and gather them all into a huddle or something.
