That's it. Zero shots & a 2-0 defeat is a good result. I watched Slots post match interview & he praised psg like a fanboy as if we are lucky to be on the same pitch. Fucks sake we are Liverpool not Fulham...who by the way I wont be confident of us beating at the weekend. The mentality monsters have had their mojo ripped out of themOriginally posted by Crimson Dynasty View PostI can't for the love of me understand of figure out the fans who thought we were going to get a result here tonight.
Like they haven't been watching this same team play this garbage football over the last several weeks.
They got decieved by that Galatasaray result - which came against a truly godawful team that had no business being in the knock-out round.
(to be fair, neither do we).
It wasn't a question of whether we'd get beaten.
It was only a question of by how much.
PSG already know they can lose to use at home and still go through as they did last season.
And they didn't even have to get out of second gear tonight to run us ragged.
Zero shots on target.
Let that sink in.
I figured if we were going to lose anyway, then let serve a purpose at least.
Have it be such a massive defeat that people would be questioning FSG if Slot still had a job in themorning.
As it stands, be prepared to hear a barrage of excuses from the usual club "sources" and their press errand boys talking about how the board still has faith and confidence that this fraud can turn around the result in Anfield.
I believe we're going to witness for the first time in our club's history lots from the crowd at Anfield walk out before full time in a European match - with those choosing to remain booing the team.
Hasn't happened in a CL match yet.
If we get the same performance and a more accurate scoreline, it will happen.
Fuck all this.

I think personally this is the first time ive really slagged off Slot.. but the guys a fucking idiot. I had Gakpo starting in my 11 but on the right.. I knew he would go in with Wirzt on the left .we had no width in the Man-city game. so no chance of stretching the play. and the same this evening.. You can question the merits of Gakpo on the left. But hes better than Wirzt.
He hasn't played much of late. But Slot's tactics of containment didnt work at the weekend and it didnt work tonight. It's ok to defend deep. and sit off. Cause they are great at using space. They are also very good at moving the ball.
The facts we decided to do fuck all with the ball. either use width and try and stretch the game or keep the ball.
You cannot allow a team like PSG to dictate the ball as well as they did. Slot is clueless and i get what people are saying about him now
And again MY GRIPE about Wirzt. who ever wanted to pay 115 million for him. needs their heads testing for brains.
since hes been here all hes ever done is lose the ball.. and do the little tappy passes. We already had a player to do that and its Curtis Jones.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

I genuinely wouldn't sweat that - no matter what happens to us, we're still a massive draw for 95% of coaches/managers.Originally posted by RedMagic View PostWe might not attract a decent/proven manager.
Of all the worries we have (and there are a number!) that's not one of the biggest ones to have.
The bigger concern is getting the right man to mould the imbalanced squad and subsequent additions into something coherent, cohesive and entertaining. That'd be a good platform to build upon.
I don't think anyone is looking forward to games and I'd include the players in that. If we can address that, we can create a foundation to build from.
If any of the players don't have the stomach for it, get rid.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

I think Slot has an impact on Macca as well. The old hes not fit and all that crap. hes played like hes not fit.. And how hes treat Chiesa is pathetic as well, I dunno why he even gets on our bench. If hes not up to it fine. But in 2 years almost.. Hes never had one chance to have more than 1 game in a row and even then, I would say hes started less than 10 matches and most of them have been in the cups..Originally posted by KingCanny View PostKlopp would have told the players they could win. Told them we had a chance. Slot set us up to keep the score down & made us feel inferior. Is it any wonder the players seem to lack confidence?Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

The problem with us being a massive draw for 95% of managers is that we are bigger than 99.999% of football clubs/sports teams, and as such we should only be interested in the top 0.001% of managers.Originally posted by Insidious View PostI genuinely wouldn't sweat that - no matter what happens to us, we're still a massive draw for 95% of coaches/managers.

As it stands there should be three obvious candidates to become our next manager, Klopp who isn't going to be tempted to come back unless FSG do what I've previously suggested they do (which they won't), Enrique who won't be leaving PSG, Alonso who will want to manage a team who will be playing in the CL, and maybe someone who could be the next big thing e.g. Fabregas. If we're not in the CL we become less attractive to those managers, especially the last three.
Whilst FSG are our owners and they allow the likes of Edwards and Hughes to have control over transfers both in and out of the club, no manager is going to have the freedom to mould the team as much as they want to. The only person who might be allowed to do that is Klopp, and that's only because I think that amongst other requirements he would want control over transfers if he was to come back to us.

you see the amount of money he spent on tripe though?Originally posted by fiordearg View PostRodgers post-Suarez team were bad as he had to buy Lambert and Mario Balotelli to replace him while Sturridge entered his injury phase. Stevie was finished. Slot has no excuse
Benteke 30 million
Clyne 12 milliin (ok but nothing special)
Balotelli 16 million
Moreno 12 million . horrible left back
Lovren 20 million. Okish again but made countless errors and in reality wasn't a success
Markovic 20 million..least said on that the better.
Sakho 15 million. Spent his days trying to defend on the floor.
Aspas 7 million.. Only thing i can remember him doing is crossing the ball over for a corner that led to Chelsea's second
Joe Allen 15 million, slower than a wet weekend in Morcombe
Borini , 10 million. another least said the better.Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

I'm really not trying to sound dismissive of what you're saying, but of all the worries we have at the moment, the ability to attract a decent Manager just doesn't rank highly for me - I still think loads would jump at the chance to come here and there should be a number of respectable candidates in the Summer available to us.Originally posted by RedMagic View PostThe problem with us being a massive draw for 95% of managers is that we are bigger than 99.999% of football clubs/sports teams, and as such we should only be interested in the top 0.001% of managers.

Macca has (sadly) been nothing like his best self since the groin and hip (?) issues that led to the surgery in the Summer.Originally posted by jozza800 View PostI'd take Joe Allen over the current version of Mac Allister any day of the week!
I'd absolutely love him to turn it around, but the inner ruthless/rebuild streak makes me wonder if selling him to part-fund a younger, physically more capable player might be worthwhile now.
Really hope he rediscovers his best in a Red shirt. Absolutely brilliant on his day, which we sadly haven't really seen for about a year now.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool
