There seems to be some confusion about the EPS set-up.

England will still get the same amount of European places across the Champion's League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

If Villa finish in 4th and win the Europa League, there will be no change.

However, if Villa finish in 5th and win the Europa League, then 6th spot will indeed get a Champion's League place. The Europa League Final is played before the last game of the season, so sides will know what they have to do to finish in respective spots.

The consequence of that circumstance (Villa win and finish 5th) is that only one side (instead of two) will get a Europa League spot, as you still end up having the same number of sides total getting to play in some form of European competition.

That would cut the chances of a Premier League side winning next season's Europa League in half, which would definitely suit some of the other participant nations, as there's a growing feeling that it's getting harder and harder to compete in Europe against the financial might of the Premier League.

For quite some time we have seen classic European clubs like Porto, Sporting Lisbon, Ajax etc who can afford less in transfer wees and wages than most Premier League sides, but now we are increasingly in a situation where historic Italian giants are going to be outspent by Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc in fees and wages.

So for the benefit of European football as a whole, everyone outside of England will be wanting to see French/German/Italian/Portuguese/Dutch teams winning the likes of the Europa and the Europa Conference to try and stem the tide a bit.

C'mon Burnley, Nick an equaliser. Havertz very lucky to stay on after a VAR check.

Filthy team this Arsenal. Pity it's part of what will get them over the line.

Arsenal could end up being the worst, most unlikable on the pitch, and most boring champions in the PL era.

The powers-that-be have already decided that Arsenal are not going to not win this title no matter how much they try to screw it up themselves and bottle it like they usually do.

Last week's game should have clued everyone onto this.

City drop any points tomorrow and that confirms Arsenal as champions.

Saving grace might be humiliation from PSG in the final. Hope the pace of the CL holders is enough to blow away the attempts at getting cheap free kicks this Arsenal team use game in,game out.

They didn't have an imminent ECL final to deal with after those games.
