I wondered how the officials could possibly conclude without doubt that Isak had got a touch to the cross then realised all the balls are microchipped and can therefore sense the slightest of deviations

Wild thing about pink is it was originally deemed a "male" colour, particularly in the 1800s. It's just years of recent societal conditioning that have made us see it differently.

Pink used to just be seen as a softer version of red, which was always a fierce/strong/empowered kind of colour. Blue on the other hand was largely designated for girls in the Western World, with the main association being with the Virgin Mary. Indeed, navy blue was seen as the most "delicate" colour for a long time. Convent schools used it a lot.

Soldiers were often assigned blue uniforms in some countries in World War I which saw a change, with blue now shifting to be seen a masculine colour, with pink becoming less associated with masculinity. The big push in the change was the "Think Pink" campaign in the 1950s and since then people have largely affiliated it with being "effeminate" or "gay" or whatever.

There's also been a strong correlation with certain shades of pink and "dumb blondes" pushed in media as well.

Now, I can't say it's a colour I wear - which probably says more about my own mixed bag of fluctuating self-confidence than anything else. I can't necessarily be arsed to "stick out like a sore thumb" more than I already do. But I do find it mad that colours have been "gendered" over time.

This has been a dull-as-dirt Sid post.

        • Chalobah called up to replace Livramento for England. Trent looks like he's had a great time since leaving us eh? With management by a 15 years past his best Mourinho to come

You'd think that by now players would start realising that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Then again most footballers are money obsessed idiots. TAA is just reaping what he sowed.

            • Decent game France V Senegal - Konate warming the bench…. Low block from Senegal forcing the French to over commit and Senegal so fast on the break - Jackson just hit the post

              • Sadio Mane lining up for Senegal against France.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

                • Senegal should be ahead now. Thats a few good chances and that from Sarr was poor. Just needed a simple finish

                  • And that’s a beautiful goal from France. Doue working his magic out wide on the left. Then the ball switched over to Olise on the right who makes an incisive pass and MBappe is onto it and one touch past the keeper
lovely goal from a quality side

                      • France cut them open again - Barcola just on as a sub for Dembele with an incredible run to find the space and then the skill and composure for the finish - the ball to him superb too. Top level quality from the French..

                            • Routing for the Croats tomorrow. Should have Trent in the side.

                              • It’s possible but imo highly unlikely - Croatia’s results of late reveals a picture of a very beatable side. Lost 3:1 to a poor Brazil and 2 nil to an average Belgium side. Drew 0:0 with the dour Czechs…x2..

Put it this way - they’re STILL relying on grandad Luka.

My hunch is that Tuchel will expose their lack of youth in key areas with ruthless German efficiency.
