It causes a lot of problems with other players, when their contracts need renewing. They have a half a decent season and want 250,000+ a week

Chelsea have decided against making outgoing Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, 27, an offer - and the France centre-half's representatives are in talks with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. (Teamtalk)

I hope he does end up at Madrid, he'll fit in with their arrogant players. Konate was offered a decent wage of that i have no doubt..
If the club meant anything at all to him, he would have signed back on, So there's no real loss.

I'll be glad if he goes to Madrid. Anything that makes that circus even more of a clown show is always a good thing in my eyes.

Yeah, it was anything but calculated.

The klopp theory might be speculation, but was clearly not calculated and definitely panic buys. An insane waste of money.

I’m glad we stuck to our guns and not offer him what he wanted. Being good in one game and utter gash in the next. In every game your waiting for his brain fart and cost us a stupid simple goal.

We can find better, the problem is, we also need a two midfielders at least two wide forwards and a right back. Having to buy a replacement spreads our budget even thinner

Agree. Losing players of value on a free is ridiculous in this day and age for a club like Liverpool. It's happening far too often.
Two players in very important positions requiring replacement aswell as the players we already needed is not ideal at all.
It'll be interesting to see who stays/goes.
Will the new manager go e Mac another season or do the club sell to raise funds? Same for quite a few.

After all that spend, Its wild that we still need a Rb lb, 1-2 cbs, 2 mfs and 2 wingers.

If the new manager is Iraola I wonder if he'll try to bring any Bournemouth players? Kroupi is being linked with a few clubs. Sensei looks to be Spurs bound.

Agreed. One marquee signing would have been plenty. We could have done without one of wirtz or isak. Imagine what 100m wisely invested could have done to our squad!

Semenyo was saying it took time for the Bournemouth players to get on board with Iraola's methods and his no days off policy.

He looked likely to be sacked early on but then it clicked into place. At least Kerkez should have a clue. And Iraola has worked with Richard Hughes before!

i always thought it would be one of konate or gomez to leave not both and rumours that gomez will see out his final year, right decision as he will help leoni find his position will give us virgil, jacquet, gomez, leoni, think its also interesting about van de ven and schlotterbeck both left footed CB's maybe virgls replacement.

i also think only one of jones or macallistar will leave making way for a dm.

True - but if we -

                            - Prioritise appropriately this Summer
                            - Sell more intelligently
                            - Remain in the Champion's League

                            - then we should hopefully be able to correct the errors quicker than we might otherwise think.

We could oh-so-easily botch it though.

Don't think Ekitike will make any meaningful contribution really. Looks like it will be months before he can get anywhere near to training again.
Think Macca and Gakpo will be gone. Curtis might stay.
If it is to be Iraola, I remember his start at Bournemouth was very bad. I think didn't win in the first nine games. It takes time for his ideas and methods to be absorbed, its not an overnight new manager bounce type of thing. But then look what he achieved, both in league position, and style of play, despite continually losing his top players. Amazing really.
