Correct it's not all down to him but it is mainly down to him. He couldn't find the answers to the problems and quickly found himself out of his depth.Originally posted by CCTV View PostWon a PL, then qualified for CL.
Don't think this season comes down to Slots ability as a manager.
Looks like the poor chelsea title defense under Jose 2nd time round.
A group committed to not succeeding to get a manager out albeit the issue at hand is still an unknown with LFC.
Edwards and Hughes also take a hug portion of the blame as for some players.
We'll find out fairly quickly if this looks like turning around but in all fairness it won't take much to improve. The fitness of our players is the biggest issue in the immediate timeframe, those fitness levels have obviously plummeted and that is absolutely on Slot. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

I literally was willing to give him a chance till a couple of months ago.... But seeing what Carrick has done with that shit team made me realise....a title winning team with that money spent and 2 seasons in the job......if he cant compete with united he is not a good coach!
..Mo's drop off was far too sharp .... a player should lose form over a couple of seasons...not day 1 of the next

Agree - and also think he has been the victim to a degree - a victim of this new bullshit - cover our arses - 3 men to do what Klopp did to such brilliance on his own.Originally posted by justme View PostSorry it came to this.. Arne should always be remembered for our title win. But it was the right call to part ways with Slot. we were on a downward spiral and he wasn't the man to turn it around.

The set up was a mess. If we'd gone into next season with the same system, we'd have finished in the bottom half.Originally posted by CCTV View PostWon a PL, then qualified for CL.

Agree …. And why it took so long for me to finally agree he needed to go, The jokers behind him take a huge amount of criticism. H’edwards need binning imo - or whoever gets the job is at their mercyOriginally posted by teesred View PostCorrect it's not all down to him but it is mainly down to him. When you say system.. what do you mean.. The same system will remain. Only difference will be the name on the head coach badge. It remains to be seen IF by some miracle of chemistry - H’edwards and whoever gets the gig - can combine to make sweet musicOriginally posted by jozza800 View PostThe set up was a mess. The tactical set up.
It was all over the place. H'edwards could have brought anyone in an the result would have been very similar.
There's a lot of work to be done to reshape the squad but at least they're not going to be playing with one arm tied behind their back (hopefully)!
Assuming it's Ireola - His Bournemouth side were well balance, aggressive and played on the front foot. If he can sort the midfield shape out we'll improve massively.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

Slot quite rightly got plaudits for getting the most out of Grav last season as a number 6. This season he's asked him to play as an 8. Not helped when Mac is being asked to play as some sort of quasi 10.
All season as well.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

Holding my breath , Slot was many good things, I liked his character and demeanor , good PR, seemed passionate for the team, had maybe bad luck with injuries.
But he was useless as a coach.
If we had our 11 best players in every game we would never be successful, always conceding stupid goals.
Please , please ,please sign a coach to play football properly, not an idealist who wants good players to do their own thing.
The new COACH/manager must be strong and be willing to be unpopular with agents and get the TEAM to support each other even if they think it is beneath them.
(My wishful thinking.......highly unlikely)The best friendships are built on a solid foundation of alcohol, cake, sarcasm and a dislike of the same people.
