It just seems odd. Hardly knee jerk!
I think many fans expected it last weekend if at all and then slowly resigned themselves to another season of Slot
Only days ago we were in talks to bring in Slot's old assistant Etiënne Reijnen to the coaching staff.
Maybe that was just a smokescreen and FSG were just waiting until Champions League Final day for the headlines

It was inevitable that he was going to go, it was just a case of whether it would be in the off-season or partway into next season. Him leaving is a big step towards righting the ship, but we still have to get in a suitable replacement, and unfortunately they will still have to deal with Hedwards, one of the main reasons why Klopp left and why the club didn't go for Alonso who would have wanted more control over any transfers

I read a few reports on slot final few months of season, not sure how true but reports of players being allowed little breaks away, that slot favoured rest between matches over training.
I also read james milner talking about klopps extreme training methods and have just read a report on iraola also favours pushing the players with no days off.
Sounds like the players better be ready for a tough pre season.

Just considering if Iraola doesn't come across as the yes man FSG will obviously want. If not then they'd probably go for Ljinders or Gerrard and to hell what us supporters think
We are well and truly into our post iconic boss era if the next man doesn't work out. Utd could still be suffering from that if Carrick doesn't work out long time. Arsenal had it for a few years after Wenger left before Arteta got to build slowly to where they are now.
Clearly it needs to be someone the board and support both get behind. Seems that once a decade in the PL and CL era we find 'a boss who gets us'. Happened with Rafa and then Klopp this century.
Enrique is the dream in that mould for me. Seems unlikely.

Arteta was given unprecedented cash... Off the scale money.. mosly because fans threatened to boycott... and he was given time too. But some will say - he got there despite missing out 2xv City..
IF he wins tonight it will be a massive slap in the face to F$G.. To think they had the best on the planet (levels above Arteta) in situ for all those years and limited his ability to win far more and create a true dynasty

Very happy that slot is gone. Nothing personal but things were just spiralling out of control. Let's hope we can get someone in who can improve our existing players and get us playing in the liverpool way again. Make us hard to beat for a start. Build from there. We finished 5th playing some of the most insipid stuff I've ever seen so would hope with a few improvements we could get back towards the top of the league. Early days. Let's see who comes in. Looking forward to next season again. PhewFrom the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

If it is Iraola it will be interesting to see what happens with certain players.
Elliot,Jones,Ramsay,Endo plus others.
An article on the BBC says he doesn't actually talk much to players and pretty much ignores the ones who aren't playing. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Hopefully that's just the usual BBC made up bullshit and that Iraola is more of motivator and a man manager than Slot was.Originally posted by teesred View PostIf it is Iraola it will be interesting to see what happens with certain players.

Wonder if alonsobwas ever a target and if he feels he should have held off a bit longer.

Just reading an item on BBC Sport, they reckon Hughes and Edwards were the ones who made the decision to part company with Arne Slot. What a shame they didn't decide all three of them should go..There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief
